SETTLED... at least I thought so (Part 63d)
After we got the kids to bed we started talking about a lot of things that we’d both pushed into the background. For me it was the potential to lead a somewhat normal life. I’d never real thought about it before because I’d never had a job even when going to school, that didn’t require abnormal hours. I’d done some quick calculations and if the ”boys” would allow me to continue to work Saturdays I’d be making over $115 per week and would even have time for my family. For Elle, my having a full time, permanent job would mean that she would, hopefully, be able to use her teaching degree, if only on a part time basis as a substitute teacher. In discussing it with me she said that Alice (the new resident that she’d just befriended) had offered to watch the kids if Elle ever decided to try it. Somehow, a lot of things were coming together for us. We ended up getting so engrossed in the “what ifs” that Elle had failed to put on her night time “package”. We were still talking, in bed and in the dark, when Elle who was in my arms, sat up suddenly. She muttered that she was “tinkling” and started to get up. I grabbed her and pulled her back and over me. I could feel the warmth of her pee as I rubbed her back and kissed her. It took a few seconds for her to relax and then it got really interesting. It was probably the best sex we’d had in a long time. Usually it was me who would fall asleep but we both did. The next thing I knew I saw a light from the bathroom. Elle had peed again and the bed was a real mess. It was around 2am and we ended up striping the bed and then taking a shower together. Wide awake, we ended up sitting in our underwear in the living room, continuing the talk we’d been involved in all evening. We finally “crashed” around 4am.
We decided not to say anything about my job prospect to any of our friends, choosing to wait until it was fact. I filled out the application for the test and during my lunch break delivered it to Mrs K. She had looked up the date of the test and it was a week from the upcoming Saturday. I knew it would be a long eight days.
On Friday two of the new trailers for display arrived. They were even longer than the three we’d just placed and one of them had a new wrinkle. It had a “pop-out” that would add an extra 8’x10’ to the living room. The trailer was delivered with the “pop-out” actually inside the unit itself. The “boys” (and I) couldn’t wait to start setting it up. We had most of it done by late Saturday afternoon and it just blew me away. At 60’ it had three bedrooms, a separate dining area and an 18“x10 living room. I knew that I wanted one... but I also was smart enough not to tell Elle about it. One of the things that, even during the leanest times for us during the Summer, I had resisted doing and that was to sell the camp trailer that I’d bought the previous year. I just wanted to be absolutely sure that I didn’t have a change of heart about leaving the horse business. The trailer was worth more than I’d paid for it, even a year later. I also knew that trailers around the size of mine (41’) were not as plentiful now with the new longer ones (50 to 60 feet) being the ”in thing“. I had come to the conclusion that it wouldn’t be hard to sell mine, in place, to a young couple starting out or to an older retired couple. Based on some information I’d gleaned from hanging around the office I felt I’d be able to sell it for almost as much as I’d paid for it. The new model that I’d just help set up cost a little over $7,000. If I got what I hoped for my two units I’d only need a little over $2000. I’d overheard a number of people who had been looking at new trailers talk about ”bank financing“. The only thing needed to get it was a full time job. I think you can see what my thought process was at the time.
I really had to resist telling Elle about the newest trailer. We continued to play more of the ”waht if“ game after supper. When Elle went to give the girls their pre bedtime baths she asked me to close the curtains. When I went to close the large ones on Tom and Lola’s side I thought I saw an orange glow flickering in their rear door window. It had the type of glass that you can’t see though clearly. It was hard to tell what it was because the lights from inside our trailer were reflecting on our glass windows. I turned out the main light and still saw it. I went outside to investigate.
I knew that Tom was away at some sort of training for his work but I also knew that Lola had their car. It wasn’t in front of their trailer when I headed in that direction. I went right to the back door and there definitely was an orange glow and I could smell burning rubber. I ran to the front door just to make sure no one was home and after a few seconds ran back to my trailer to call the fire department. (We didn’t have 911 back then) I told Elle what I’d seen and ran back outside to wait for the Fire Trucks. I gave specific instructions on how to find the right road and wanted to be able to point to the right unit. It took them about 15 minutes to get there. With all the cars parked in the street it took some time to make it down the street. It was a volunteer fire department which meant that many of them would be driving their own cars. Talk about utter chaos!
The first two to arrive wanted to chop through the back door with fire axes. I was able to convince them that a couple of crow bars in the door jamb would do the job. When the door was opened I could see flames coming from the door of the dryer. It was one of those stackable units where the washer in on the bottom and the dryer was on the top. Two men jumped up inside the trailer and one opened the door. A huge fireball jumped out at them and the one who had opened the door screamed out in pain. By then some of the others had run the fire hose to the hydrant. One guy had the nozzle pointed right at the door when a guy who I guessed was the chief showed up and told them not to use water but to get a dry chemical extinguisher from one of the trucks. By then there was little in the way of flames. It only took them a few minutes to find the culprit. Lola had washed a rubber backed bath mat and put it into the dryer and then left. I spoke with the guy who I thought was the Chief and he said there was almost no fire damage but the smoke damage was extensive.

SETTLED... at least I thought so (Part 63c)
In the back of my mind was the “bet” between Mac and Lil. I’d seen Mac a few times and it almost seemed like he was trying to avoid me. About mid week I ran into Jim and, since he was the one who had told me about the whole thing, I asked what he knew about it. He wasn’t willing to talk that much but he did tell me that Mac and Lil (and Andy) had supposedly worked something out. I didn’t know what that meant and still didn't know who had won and who had lost. Jim wasn’t very forthcoming about it. By now I was really puzzled.
A coastal storm messed up the plans for spreading topsoil over some of the newest pads that Andy had cleared across the back part of the park. The new guy the “boys” had hired wasn’t keeping up with the job so I was pressed back into action. The rain made it so there were no clothes line peeks but on two of the service calls I made there was some lingerie hanging on temporary lines hanging in the bathrooms. I found one of them to be interesting in that the panties were the Carter’s Spanky pants with little flowers that I’d seen Ruthie wearing during the Summer. I had no money to spare but put it in my mind that when I did I’d have to try and find some.
Saturday the weather cleared but the ground was too wet to work in. Andy had tried but got his bulldozer buried in the sand. The “boys” had contracts on two more of the new trailers and were expecting a delivery of three more new ones that next week. They wanted to get the sold units in place so the newer ones could be displayed. We were out of cement blocks that were used under the trailers to stabilize them so I got sent to get a new supply. I’d done this a time or two and knew the foreman at the plant to be known as Larry and that everything had to go through him. He wasn’t there when I got there. I asked around and finally this heavy set woman with a huge smile on her face showed up and asked if she could help. I explained that I’d been told that I HAD to deal with Larry and he wasn’t there. She laughed and said that it was OK. She was Mrs Larry and laughed again. I placed the order and loaded the blocks on the pick up truck and then went to sign the order ticket. She saw it was for the trailer park and mentioned that she had baby sit for both of the “boys” when they were young. It was further evidence of small town living. Then she looked at my signature and asked if I was related to anyone in town as she recognized my last name. I mentioned my grandfather and she then laughed again (she did that a lot) and said “You must be Rick’s son“. I was and acknowledged it to her. She and my father had gone to school together.
I spent the next twenty minutes tracing my life’s travels for her. When I was done she sounded like my grandfather when she asked why I wasn’t using my college diploma. My answers weren’t satisfactory to her and it was almost like an order when she told me she wanted to see me in her office sometime the following week. I thought she meant at the cement block factory but then she handed me a card. On it read ”Deputy Director: County Civil Service". She then explained that her father owned the cement factory and her husband, Larry, managed it. She told me how to find her office and sent me on my way. As I drove back to the park I wasn’t quite sure what had just happened.
I didn’t say anything to my grandfather when I took him to visit my grandmother on Sunday. I barely mentioned it to Elle just casually saying that I had another interview but I didn’t know for what. She gave me a puzzled look and let it pass.
Monday and Tuesday were taken up setting the new trailers on their pads. On Wednesday I called the lady and asked if I could come in late in the afternoon as I didn’t want the ”boys“ to know I was out looking for a job. She told me to come in around 5:30pm and she would wait. The building was new and not yet fully occupied. It took a bit of searching to find her office. She was waiting at the receptionist’s desk and had a few sheets of paper for me. I’d told her on Saturday that I was an Economics major with a concentration in Public Finance. After greeting me she held up one of the papers. Across the top in bold type it read ”STAFF ACCOUNTANT“. Then she said ”the position is yours... all you have to do is take a test.“ I was dumfounded. I had no idea what the job description was nor the pay. I was almost speechless. When she realized that she had overwhelmed me she slowed down a bit and let me read the paper she’d given me. Three things jumped right out at me. First was the $97.50 for a 35 hour, five day week. Next was that I’d get nine paid holidays and two weeks paid vacation. The last was that I’d be eligible for hospitalization and medical coverage for both me and my family after three months employment. I remember just staring at the words on the paper. Finally she broke the spell with one word... ”Well?“ I turned and looked at her and saw that same big smile I’d seen on Saturday at the cement block factory. I decided that I liked this woman... a lot!
The long and short of the process was that I had to take a State administered test; wait for my score and see where I stood on the list for the County; be interviewed by the County Comptroller and start work. The lady, who wanted to be called Mrs K, said it would probably be around Halloween before I would be able to start. After reading about the pay, hours and benefits I was ready to start the next day. As I left she told me not to worry about the test or the list. The test was known to be easy and the job had been open for a few months and no resident from the County had even taken the test. Pass it and the job was mine was the way I took it.
Even though it only took about five or six minutes to get home it seemed like an hour. I couldn’t wait to tell Elle... and eventually, my grandfather. Another change coming in my life and this time I couldn’t wait for it to happen!

SETTLED... at least I thought so (Part 63b)
When I got in the car I took a close look at them and was disappointed in that they weren’t in very good shape. I only had the light from the dash to see by and what I really wanted to know was who made them. It took a little bit of work but I was able to flatten out the label enough to read “Evette”. It was a new name for me. As I looked them over I realized that I had a bulge. As I said, I was disappointed that they were in such poor shape but it made sense because if they were in good shape Ronnie would’ve taken them to Florida. As I drove home I went back to concentrating on what I hoped Elle and I would be doing in just a short time. I left the panties in the trunk of the car when I got home. I’d transferred my “stash” of panties that I didn’t want Elle to know about over to my grandfather’s garage. As I was going to take him to the hospital to see my grandmother on Saturday I felt it was the safest place for them. Let’s just say that I enjoyed the rest of my evening.
As soon as I walked in the door Elle told me that Jim had been looking for me. I knew he was installing the same skirting under his trailer as I had and thought that maybe he was having trouble. When I got there he was talking to a couple of guys. He waved me up to them and then introduced me to his cousin, the race car driver. As I’d mentioned before. I remembered his name from the last year I owned my race car but didn’t recognize him. We chatted about some of the people we each knew from the track and then he left to go to practice held prior to the races that evening. As soon as he and the other guys left Jim started pressuring me to go to the races with him that night. It was closing night and there was to be a special extra lap race. If I hadn’t talked with his cousin about the racing people we each knew I probably wouldn’t have even given a thought to going... but I had. I didn’t commit right then and there. I said I’d let him know and headed home.
It was a big surprise when Elle didn’t have a problem with me going. Once she said it was OK I started getting excited. If it weren’t the last night of racing I’m not so sure that the “OK” would’ve been given so readily. She said that she’d get in touch with Jim’s wife and maybe get together with her.
A lot had changed in the four years since I had my last car race. A new, more powerful class of cars were now racing. Jim’s cousin was racing in the faster division. The division my car had raced in was still racing and there were still quite a few of the same drivers competing. But there were a handful who had moved up as well. That made it more interesting for me. Jim’s cousin finished third and was runner up for the points championship. We went into the pits afterwards and congratulated him. I wandered around a bit and got to say hello to a couple of people I knew from my days at the track. I remember lying in bed that night and thinking back to my car racing days.
I’d promised to take my grandfather to the hospital to see my grandmother on Sunday. It was always sad to see her just lying there like a vegetable. She couldn’t speak and her side was still paralyzed. But my grandfather was faithful, going to see her every day. One thing I knew I’d hear from my grandfather was that I needed to get a job that utilized my college degree. On this Sunday there was something different... he had arranged an interview for me with a good friend of his. The man was Chairman of the Board at a small local bank. I’d heard my grandfather mention his name from time to time. The fact that it was at a bank didn’t thrill me as I still remembered my experience in college as a bank intern for a few weeks. There wasn’t much I could say so I didn’t say anything.
An interview mean a suit and a tie. I still had a suit but hadn’t worn it in two years. I tried it on that night and it still fit. In a way I was hoping that it wouldn’t so I could postpone the meeting. I don’t remember which day it was but I do remember how nervous I was. I walked in and asked for the name my grandfather had given me. I was taken into an office and the man wasn’t old like my grandfather but looked to be about my father’s age. I was puzzled and so was the man.
It was his father I was to meet with. It took a minute or two to get it sorted out but the man had the same name as his father and he was the President of the bank. By the time I’d met and chatted with the right person I knew I didn’t want the job I was offered. It was as a teller for $45 a week. I was making around $80 a week at the trailer park. The fact that I worked almost twice as many hours didn’t matter to me. It was the gross dollars that I was interested in. In talking to Elle that evening about the mix up she told me that the son lived in the town that we both grew up in. In talking about it I realized that I used to deliver groceries to his house. I vaguely remembered his wife as being very nice (I would usually get a tip) and pretty.
Elle had made a point of following up her meeting with Alice, the new lady, and had volunteered to go with her to find the different food stores and other places she might need. She was in the trailer when I got there for lunch. I didn’t expect to find anybody there and when I walked in I surprised both of us. She was sitting on the floor playing with her daughter and Jean, my oldest. She was wearing a dress and when she saw me she tried to jump up but didn’t quite make it. As she fell backwards and into the sofa her one leg lifted and I got a nice panty peek. There was no way for her not to have known that I’d seen up her skirt. She was very embarrassed and decided to leave right away. I was sorry that she did but I knew I wanted to see more of her.

SETTLED... at least I thought so (Part63a)
Labor Day was always considered the de-facto end of Summer. 90% of Summer rentals (which drove the economy in our area) were in the months of July and August. Those people who were affluent enough to have a Summer home would return to their Winter homes and might come for a few weekend visits during the Fall months. On the one hand I was sad to see it come but on the other was looking for some “down time” to just kick back and relax. That first week after Labor Day was a busy one though. At work we were scheduled to place one of the new 55 foot long trailers into one of the new pads I'd been working on. It was supposed to be done that Wednesday but the electricians hadn’t finished their work. I’d been working full time on building and preparing the new pads for a few weeks and had been rewarded with a 10 cent an hour raise. Ben and Dick had hired a new guy to take over my other duties which I knew I would miss. No longer would I have up close viewing of wash lines and the laundry left behind at the meeting hall washing machines. But it was more money and I really enjoyed working outside with my hands.
It was Thursday when the attempt to place the new trailer was made. We ran into difficulty right at the beginning. When the park had originally been laid out and the roads paved they had used the longest trailers available at the time (40 feet) to develop the turning angles. With 15 feet of additional length there just wasn’t enough room to make a 90 degree turn. We (and I include Ben and Dick) had to remove fences, sheds and cut down trees to accomplish this. What should’ve taken a few hours stretched into the afternoon. Around noon the family who had purchased the unit showed up fully expecting to have access to it. It was still in the street and, in that position, was blocking egress for the majority of the residents. Because I hadn’t come home for lunch Elle came looking for me. As luck would have it she ended up speaking to the lady who had bought the trailer. It turned out to be the same lady who I’d seen Dick showing the lot to when Andy was still clearing the area. I didn’t recognize her at first as she was wearing slacks and when I’d originally seen her she was wearing a rather sheer dress. She was fairly attractive with short, dark hair. When I saw her with Elle she had a young girl with her. I walked over to them and Elle introduced us telling me her name was Alice and the daughter was Julie. The daughter was clinging to her mother’s leg and my daughter, Jean, was clinging to Elle’s leg. It was pretty funny. I could only stay with them for a minute as the “boys” (Ben and Dick) were ready for the next phase of the move.
We finally got it in place around 4pm or so. When we turned on the water there was a leak and I was sent under the trailer to find and fix it. I came out wet and muddy and even though there was still more work to be done I headed home to get cleaned up and changed. Once there Elle filled me in on our new residents. They had come from Texas and the husband was transferred to work on developing the proposed Lunar Module. Upon hearing that I immediately thought about Mac’s and Lil’s argument that Jim had told me about. I couldn’t wait to tell Mac about the guy. When I’d seen their daughter I thought she was older than my oldest but she was actually a little younger. It was just that she was very tall for her age. Elle told me that the two of them had gotten over their shyness and seemed to be getting along well by the time she left.
Elle also told me that she’d gotten a call from Frank (my sailing club mate). He had left, driving, for his permanent home in Florida on Tuesday arriving there that morning. He thought that some important papers he needed for his work were in Florida but had been unable to find them. The only people he really knew on a local basis was Rex (the boat builder) and me. When he couldn’t reach Rex he tried me and asked if I could go to his Summer house and try to find them. Because he’d given me the part I’d needed a few weeks back and hadn’t yet paid him for it I was willing to do it for him. But, as I got into my clean, dry clothes Elle walked into the bedroom and told me her period was all gone. It’d been a week since we’d “played” and after hearing that news the last place I wanted to go was down to Frank’s house. I still had to finish up some things at work and as I did all I could think of was Elle and I getting together.
By the time I finished up with work it was after 6pm. As soon as I walked in the trailer I was all over Elle. She appreciated the attention but reminded me I’d have to wait until the kids were in bed. I knew that but I was really anxious. It was Elle who suggested that while she did that I could go to Frank’s. I still didn’t want to go but there was a part of me that knew I should... so I headed there.
Frank had told Elle where the key to the house was hidden and that I should look in and around the desk that was in the bigger bedroom. I was to be looking for a folio with proofs (pictures). I did and found nothing. I was upset because I’d wasted my time. By then it was getting dark and I was anxious to get back. I honestly don’t know why I didn’t just leave but I decided to take a look in the dresser before I did. There were some random clothes and just as I was about to close the drawer I noticed what appeared to be a panty elastic. I quickly picked it up and was rewarded to find they had the same waist elastic that I’d seen on their wash line just a few weeks earlier and had chickened out before taking a close look at them. Not this time. I quickly stuffed them into my pocket and headed out.
To be continued...
ALMOST SETTLED... and happy too (Part 62i)
The meeting after the trophy presentation represented the last time I’d see most of the group until the following spring. There were still a few boats on the beach that had to be taken home and stored for the Winter including mine and Buddy’s and I figured I’d do it the next day. Elle and I were coming back to get the kids and also to celebrate our both of our fathers birthday anyway. I was somewhat sorry to see the season end even though I’d had some disappointments. I was pleased that I’d sailed that well with an eight year old boat with eight year old sails. Most of the boats I was racing against were new within the past three years and the technology used in sailmaking, as well as the material used for it, was far superior to when mine were made. My “wish” for the next year was to be able to buy a new set. At that moment in time the chances of that happening looked VERY slim.
The next day went very well. I picked up the boat and took it to my parents to store for the winter. While I was doing that Elle and the kids played on their beach with my mother finally getting to enjoy the kids. My mother, when Elle’s mother was baby sitting them, claimed she never got to see them. Since she was the one hosting the birthday party insisted that they “were hers” for the day. Everybody seemed to have a good time but I insisted that I wanted to be back to the trailer while it was still light out. It was a struggle though and we almost made it. It was dusk when we drove down our street and as we passed Andy’s trailer saw that there was a party going on. After unloading the car and helping Elle get the kids to bed I walked down to see what was going on. It was pretty much over with only a few guys still there along with Lil. Mac and Jim were also there and it seemed to me that I’d missed something good. I had a beer and then left with Jim. On the way down the street he filled me in with what I’d missed.
It started on Sunday when Andy and Mac discovered the lake that was only a few miles away. It was located on a lightly used road. They’d been looking for a good place to go hunting when the season opened when they stumbled upon it. When they got back to the park they mentioned it to their wives who then persuaded them to take them and their kids to see it. They got some beer and headed back. One thing led to another and Lil decided to go for a swim... in her underwear. Hearing that made me almost instantly hard but that was about all Jim knew. Then, at about noon on Labor Day, Mac came knocking on Jim’s door and asked if he was interested in a party that Andy and Lil were hosting. With nothing planned he said yes. It started at about mid afternoon and by the time they got around to cooking the food the guys and Lil were pretty drunk. He said that Mac and Lil got into an argument over something having to do with the space program and the planned moon landing. (A local aerospace contractor was very involved in the design and building of the lunar module and a few of the park residents were working at the plant. When Jim told me that Mac got into an argument it didn’t surprise me. Mac was a really bright guy who knew a little about a lot of things. I liked Mac but I quickly learned that when he was fueled by alcohol, in his mind, he thought he knew everything about anything and an argument was usually the result.) Lil had made a statement and Mac took umbrage with it. There were two people in the park who could settle the matter but neither was home at the time. Mac was so sure he was right that he stated that he’d walk down the street in his underwear if he was wrong. Andy egged Lil on and got her to agree to do the same. Jim and I were standing in front of my trailer as he told me most of this. As he walked away I remember thinking to myself that it would never happen regardless of who was right and then went inside.

ALMOST SETTLED... and happy too (Part 62h)
After we crossed the finish line we had a long way to go to get back to shore. Penny was really animated and I thought it was because we’d done so well. She was seated on the floorboards and it was the first time I had a chance to relax and see if I could get a panty peek. I tried to be discrete but she was looking right at me. Finally she got up and sat on the deck and it appeared that she was embarrassed. Then she apologized and said she really had to “tinkle” (her word). Oh my heart!. She slid her butt out over the side and told me not to look at her. I honored her request but the thought of this cute girl wetting her pants was too much for me. The bulge couldn’t be hidden but she wasn’t looking at that. It took her only a short time to accomplish her task and when she finished she asked if I would lean the boat over so she could dip her butt in the water. I was hoping to see the natural wet spot but I knew I had to do what she asked. I slid into the cockpit which helped me to hide the bulge and I watched as she dragged her butt in the water. Whew!
Neither of us said anything for quite a while. It was Penny who spoke first and it was to apologize. She went on to say that she hadn’t been to the bathroom since she left home and there wasn’t time when she went to her car to change clothes. I don’t remember if I said anything or not. She kept talking and said that if she’d been in her own boat she would’ve just gone in the boat. She was laughing when she said it. That prompted me to get a little bold and I think I asked if they ever did it together or something like that. I remember her continuing to laugh. She finally slowed her laughing and, now blushing for sure, shook her head affirmatively. My bulge was now hurting me. After she had calmed down she told me that yesterday morning, because there was hardly any wind, they had been out for almost 5 hours and that they had each “tinkled” twice. On the way in they had been bailing “tinkle”, not water, out of the boat. I know I was smiling when she was telling me about it. Then she got serious and asked (pleaded) with me not to tell anyone. I nodded in agreement that I would keep her secret. We were getting close to shore by then and I’m not sure why but I started to tell her about Elle’s incontinence. At first I don’t think she believed me but then she kind of accepted it and asked how she handled it, noting that she’d never seen any evidence. I sort of laughed and told her that hadn’t been paying attention. Then it was my turn to ask her not to say anything. She nodded in agreement but hesitated and asked if she could tell her sister. What could I say... they were twins and shared everything.
As an aside... if my first place had counted I would have earned a third place for the weekend and would have qualified to go to the National Championships. The fact that I went into the weekend knowing I couldn’t go helped me to accept what had happened.
Once ashore I had to go find Elle and the kids. She’d been befriended by a couple of ladies with young children of their own and offered to let share their beach umbrellas. The timing was just about right because Elle had run out of “supplies” and the kids, without naps, were getting restless. I didn’t like leaving before the trophy presentation because I was afraid it sent a message that I was a sore loser. Penny helped me take the boat apart and to ready it for trailing back home. I was somewhat disappointed in not getting a panty peek while in the boat and kept hoping I’d get one before leaving. I’d just about given up hope when, after hitching the trailer to the car, Penny noticed that I’d left my parts box behind. I watched as she ran to get it for me and when she bent over to pick it up I was able to get a very nice VPL. At least it was something.
As far as sailing was concerned, the next two weeks finished up my season. It was just club racing on the Sundays and, I have no memory of anything memorable happening before, during or immediately after the races. That is until the second Sunday night. It was Labor Day weekend and that pretty much signaled the end of Summer. The club always held trophy night on Labor Day Sunday night so Elle and I arranged to eat with her parents as they would have the kids for overnight. Trophies for the Junior sailing program were scheduled to be handed out first at 7:30pm. It was a very popular program and the kids and their parents always filled up the inside of the building. The Senior trophies were scheduled to follow and most of the Seniors planned to arrive around 8:30pm, hoping that the youngsters would be on their way home. Elle and I got there around 8:15 or so and found a few other Seniors having to stand on the steps up to the porch. The wind was still blowing and as it was getting dark it was also getting cool. Elle had changed into a skirt and blouse and even with a sweater for her shoulders was complaining. It was about then the Buddy and his wife, Carol, saw us and with a few others that they had rounded up in tow suggested that we go up to their cottage and wait until we saw the parking lot starting to empty. Their cottage was directly behind the clubhouse only up on a bit of a bluff. We followed the others and went across the sand to the stairs. I remember Buddy once mentioning that it was 52 steps in all, one for each week of the year. Elle was walking next to Carol and they were a little way ahead. I ended up following Jimbo and Ruthie with Ruthie right in front of me. It was almost dark but there was enough ambient light to see the steps. We were about halfway up when a puff of wind blew Ruthie’s skirt up, all the way around. She stopped and tried to push it back down in front which made it go higher in the back. I was two or three steps behind and when the skirt went up my eyes were at just the right height to get a good look at her panties. Unfortunately it was too dark to get any details (if there were any) but i could see the half moon of the crotch. By the time she got control of the skirt I’d had about a ten to fifteen second look. I needed the time it took walking up the rest of the steps to calm down.

ALMOST SETTLED... and happy too (Part 62g)
Before the group broke up there was word being passed around that the reason that I hadn’t gotten the cannon when I crossed the finish line was that I wasn’t the winner. My first thought was ”how could this be?“ It was almost at that very moment that we all heard a loud ”boom“ from the race committee boat. Looking out on the water we could see one sailboat in the vicinity. With the officials still out there I couldn’t get to ask what rule I’d broken this time. As much as I liked racing a sailboat I certainly had no love of the officials that ruled the sport.
Long story short... I had gone around the course the wrong way... and so had everybody else but that one boat. That boat had been involved in the collision prior to the start but had managed to make repairs and had gone the right way. It would take too long to explain what had happened. In truth, I was partly to blame. The race officials were technically correct but were also culpable. The reason I say that is that there were 14 boats with about 10 of them that had more than 5 years of racing experience who had followed me unaware of the course change that the officials had made. In any case it was another disappointment and garnered me the nickname ”wrong way Corrigan“.
The trip home with Paul was long. I definitely felt cheated because we had beaten all the boats who had started together. We found out the other boat had received specific direction from the race officials telling him that we all were sailing the wrong course as he crossed the starting line. But how do you fight ”City Hall“. It wasn’t just me who had been disqualified as all of us had been with the exception of that one boat. The way the scoring worked was that you received the same number of points as your finishing position. If you start a race and drop out you get one more point than the last boat to finish. But, if you are disqualified you get one more point than the number of boats that are registered. With 16 boats registered we (and all who had followed me) got 17 points making it virtually impossible to be in contention for a trophy. Paul recognized this and asked if he could back out of his commitment to crew for me the next day. It was his last day to be home before returning to his base so I told him it was OK. I really wasn’t into it either. The only thing was that he didn’t ask until we were back to the trailer. My boat was still at the racing venue which meant I’d have to go back on Sunday to get it. That part didn’t make me very happy.
Sunday races weren’t scheduled to start until noon to allow those who wanted to go to church to do so. I slept in and when I did get up asked Elle if she wanted to go for a ride to go get the boat. It was another beautiful day and even though she was still burdened by her period she said yes and suggested that we make it a picnic. She made up sandwiches and I packed up some toys for the kids to play with. It was a little over an hour to get there and when I parked the car I could see that the boats on the beach were just starting to be launched. I unloaded the car and took the stuff down by the boat. I recognized the familiar face leaning against it as Penny, Pam’s sister. She was wearing a sun dress and had her shoes in her hand. She wanted to say how sorry she was that I got disqualified the day before. I asked how bad the damage on her boat was and she said it really was bad and that if they thought it could be sailed she’d be out there. By not racing in the afternoon race she and her sister had, as far as point go, finished second and because of their finish in the first race were actually in first place overall. I remember shaking my head in disbelief. Something was wrong with this scene.
Penny then asked why I wasn’t preparing to race and I told her I didn’t have a crew. Her face lit up like a roman candle and I can still hear her yell out ”I’ll crew!“ as she ran around to the side of the boat where I was standing. Elle heard her and as I looked her way she kind of shrugged her shoulders as if to say it was OK with her if I wanted to. I did and I didn’t. In the back of my mind was what my father had preached; ”finish what you start“ but, on the other hand I'd asked Elle to go on a picnic. I remember sort of hesitating pointing out that she wasn’t exactly dressed for crewing. She started running towards the parking lot yelling for me to get the boat lunched. There were still two guys who hadn’t started off for the starting line who I was able to coerce into helping me. I had started to hank on the sails when I saw Penny running across the sand. She’d changed into a pair of red shorts and a white blouse that she was buttoning as she ran. She jumped on board and I pushed us off without getting the sails fully on and without the rudder. The wind was behind us and was blowing us towards the starting line and I felt it would take longer to do it while still by the shore. At least we were headed in the right direction. We were further away than I’d hoped we’d be when I heard the starting sequence start. We almost made it but were the last boat to start.
On our way out Penny pleaded with me to tell her some of my sailing ”tricks“. She explained that by sailing with her sister they were always trying to figure out why I did so well. I’d known since I first started sailing against them that they had looked up to me. I’d never really thought about teaching racing tactics before she asked. I quickly decided that I’d tell her why I was doing what I was doing and encouraged her to ask questions.
Because we were last I decided to take a ”flyer“ like I had the previous day. The wind was what I called ”perfection”; about 8 to 10 miles per hour. It was enough to make the boat go fast without having to really work hard. I really had nothing to lose since I was already last. I explained what I was doing and pointed out what, as a local sailor, should’ve been obvious to her and that was the out going tide was working against the majority of the other competitors. We went the other way and by the first mark we were fifth. She was really impressed and couldn’t believe that no one had ever told her (or her sister) about how to use tidal action. We ended up finishing third. She was really excited that we’d come from so far behind.
To be continued...
ALMOST SETTLED... and happy too (Part 62f)
From the time I was eleven I was involved in some sort of racing be it sailing, cars or horses. With cars and horses out of the picture it was strictly sailing. When it appeared that week that I wouldn’t be racing on the weekend it was quite a disappointment. The lateness of Paul’s decision did create a bit of last minute scrambling for me though. I won’t bore you with the details but suffice it to say that by the time that Paul and I arrived at the racing venue on Saturday we were late. The reason Frank hadn’t left the part out for me was that he hadn’t been able to find it before he left. He made a concerted effort to locate it when he returned Friday night and brought it with him that morning. My problem with that was that there was no time to make the change before racing started. Luck appeared to be with me in that the wind was light which would mean there wouldn’t be all that much strain on the distressed part. However. the light wind presented a far different problem in that Paul weighed about 35 pounds more than Elle and that extra weight would slow us down.
We managed to get to the starting line just before the race started. Paul was familiar with the type of boat we were racing but all his experience had been as a skipper and not as a crew. We had to work some things out as we raced and that didn’t help our performance either. The questionable part held up and we ended up finishing somewhere in the middle of the fleet. There was a break for lunch and we used the time to make the repair. The wind picked up during the break and by the time we headed for the starting line the usual afternoon Southerly had come in. Now Paul’s weight would come in handy to help hold the boat down and on a fairly level plane.
Having nothing to lose I chose to take what sailboat racers call a ”flyer“ at the start. A ”flyer“ is when a sailor takes an unconventional tack (chance) and sort of ignores what the majority of his competitors are doing. I had a real good knowledge of the local tidal currents and decided to try and take advantage of the incoming tide. As we were jockeying for the start I heard a lot of yelling and saw two boats had collided. I pressed on and took my ”flyer” going off on the opposite side of the course than the majority of the others. It paid off as we got to the first mark of the course in first place. With hard work we held the lead and crossed the finish line first... only we didn’t get the traditional cannon salute that winners usually received.
As we headed for shore I could see one boat still quite a ways back on the race course. What was really strange was that the boat was approaching the finish line from a different direction than I and the other boats right behind me had come from. I dismissed it as Paul and I celebrated sailed for the shore. Once there we received congratulations from some of the other sailors whose boats were launched from the beach. As all the local sailors launched their boats from the club marina I didn’t see any of them as we took the sails off and got ready to head back home. As we did we could hear and see some sort of commotion out on the beach in front of the clubhouse and dock. Curious, we walked towards it and I could see one of the local sailors (Peter) chasing one of the twins. She was wearing a white dress and not in sailing clothes. I wondered about that as I had seen both the girls earlier as we sailed out for the start.
After running around in circles while on the beach Peter trapped what turned out to be Pam on the dock. She had no where to run but out to the end. The dock was about 150 feet with a “T ” at the end. Peter caught her and it seemed like he picked her up like she was a feather. He walked to the edge of the dock with Pam on his shoulder and then he jumped in still holding her on his shoulder. It was pretty funny. When they came to the surface it was shallow enough for Peter to stand. Pam, on the other hand, had her dress up around her face and it was obvious she was in some difficulty. Peter was over six feet tall and Pam was no more than 5’ 4“ so there was no way for her to touch the bottom. Peter swam over to her and we all watched as he helped her pull her dress off over her head. Then she started swimming for shore as Peter walked in with the dress. By the time they started in more of the local sailors had made there way over from the marina. Steve, another local that I was friendly with had the ”scoop“ as to what this had been all about.
Peter and the twins had a long history of practical jokes that they played on each other. On this day Peter had reversed the lines that are used to hoist the sails up on the mast on the twin’s boat. With the way the locals launched their boats in the marina, doing this made for quite a hassle for the girls. I had mentioned that I had thought that two boats had collided prior to the start. One of them belonged to the twins and the boat had been damaged to the point that they couldn’t race it. When they hoisted it out of the water back at the marina they saw Peter’s boat trailer. They decided to hide it so that when he hauled it out he wouldn’t have a place to put it. Peter knew it had been the girls but the only one he saw was Pam. Pam had gone home and had changed for a party she was attending that night but had come back to the club to see the results and, unfortunately for her, Peter saw her.
As Pam approached the shore someone had gotten a beach towel to give her when she walked out of the water. But it was fairly shallow and she had to walk about 10 to 12 feet to get it. She was in just her bra and panties... and I was right in position to see her. She was wearing nylon panties and when nylon gets wet it becomes almost transparent. Mmmmm! There had to be at least 30 people there as she emerged from the water and she received a big cheer as she did. For me it was another good memory.

ALMOST SETTLED... and happy too (Part 62e)
The weekend following was the Territorial Championships which would qualify three area sailors for the National Championships. Even though there was no possible way that I could race in the Nationals I still wanted to compete in the Territorials. They were being held at the same club where I’d had my biggest sailing disappointment three years earlier when the Nationals were held there. In spite of that negative experience I liked sailing there and had made some good friends among the members including the twins, Pam and Penny.
There was a problem in that I discovered that a critical part that held the rudder to the hull of the boat had developed a serious crack. Before Frank had his new boat built by Rex, the local boat builder, he raced a boat that was built by the same boat builder as mine. He’d told me that he still had some spare parts from it and to let him know if I ever wanted them. I didn’t say ”yes“ and I didn’t say ”no“ when he offered them to me as I didn’t have any spare money. I still didn’t but I needed that part if I was to race on the weekend. I called him about it and he said he’d leave it out on his patio for me to pick up as he was leaving on a business trip. I didn’t really want to make a special trip to get it but really didn’t have a choice. That Tuesday, after supper, I drove down to Frank’s house and looked for the part but didn’t see it. The door was open and I could see into the kitchen. I called for his wife but there was no answer. I was upset that the part wasn’t there and without it I’d be taking a chance on really doing damage to my boat if it broke while racing. I called her name a few more times and then tried the screen door and found it was open. I wasn’t exactly comfortable just walking in but I was desperate for the part. I walked into the living room and saw Ronnie, Frank’s wife, sitting on the floor with her arm up on the sofa and her head resting on it. I called her name but didn’t get a response. When I looked on the end table I saw the reason. It was a half empty fifth of vodka. She was passed out.
I didn’t know what to do and as I was walking out I saw a door that appeared to go into the garage. I figured ”why not“ and opened it. I was partly right. It did lead to the garage but it was also a laundry room. Not one to walk past a washing machine with no one around I opened it. I didn’t see anything "interesting" but stuck my hand in anyway pulling out a handful of clothes. I could feel some dampness and quickly sorted through the small pile and found the clamdiggers that Ronnie had worn at the party. There wasn’t much light but when I held them up I could see the stain from when she’d wet herself on the patio. My brain went into overdrive and immediately I wanted to find the panties she’d been wearing when she did it. But I was worried that she might wake up so threw everything back in the washer and went to check on her. This whole episode probably took less than five minutes. Finding her still out cold I started back to the washer. I happened to look out the kitchen window and saw part of a wash line and a few bras. I went to the window and then saw something more interesting... panties. The immediate problem with that was I didn’t see a door to get out there.
I was frustrated at first but I didn’t give up. I went outside and walked around the outside of the garage and there was this tiny little space, probably no more than 10 feet by 20 feet, that made up the back yard. The wash line took up about half of it and on it I saw what I wanted. As I approached it and the panties two things jumped out at me... the waist elastic and the crotch. I’d seen the waist elastic the night that the sailing group had been at the bowling alley and I'd noticed it on the panties Ronnie was wearing. It was also very similar to the waist elastic on Elise’s panties that I’d picked up at the meeting hall back at the park. But I could easily see that they weren’t made by the same manufacturer. The crotch was way higher in both the front and back than Elise’s Shadowline panties. There was also one other slight difference in that they weren’t as opaque. I remember my heart pounding as it was still daylight and here I was, a stranger, at the wash line. I could see the house right behind Frank's through the hedge and just couldn’t bring myself to take a pair or to even check out who had made them. I just went back to my car and headed home without the part or a pair of panties. So close...
I beat myself up all the way home. I was mad because I’d chickened out on the panties and even madder that I’d lost focus on picking up the needed part. I told myself I could get it on Friday night when I would go pick up the boat but my chance for seeing the panties again was lost. I lay awake for a long time that night.
As if the lack of a part wasn’t enough Elle got her period the next day. She’d raced one day with it and was a mess when it was over. The combination of incontinence and a period is not pretty. She just shook her head when she told me. Initially, I took it as an omen saying that it really wasn’t meant for me to sail that weekend. It was Elle who came up with the idea of trying to reach Paul, the old friend who was home on leave, to see if he would be willing to crew for me. I had to have my father walk down to his parents house to get in touch with him. When he called he wasn’t all that thrilled with the idea as his leave was almost up and he wanted to spend the time with his wife. I told him to think about it and call me by Friday.
When I didn’t hear from him by lunch time on Friday I pretty much gave up hope. I was seeding the new pads when this car stopped out in the road. I didn’t recognize it but as I stared at it I knew I’d seen the face of the girl in the passenger seat. It took a few seconds before realizing that it was Paul’s wife. He’d left it up to her to decide and she’d said it was OK. I was happy!

ALMOST SETTLED... and happy too (Part 62d)
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I’ll go back to a time line for the weekends now. It’s fairly easy as I have reference material relating to the sailboat racing to refer to.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
It was just regular Sunday club racing the weekend following the area championships. What was memorable was the Saturday night party. Elle wasn’t really too happy about going fearing there would be some pointed reference to her wet pants on Saturday. I, on the other hand, wanted to discuss my disqualification from the previous weekend with the older, seasoned sailors. It was still bothering me. The party was at Frank’s house which was really nothing more than a Summer bungalow. It did have a nice big front yard and Frank, to appease his neighbors for the potential noise, invited them as well. It was definitely the biggest party of the Summer.
It was obvious that his wife, Ronnie (the former beauty queen) was well on her way to being drunk when we arrived. It was so puzzling to see her this way and to watch Frank, who didn’t drink at all, feed her drink after drink. She was wearing a pair of clamdigger pants (which she filled nicely) and a halter top. All the guys were definitely looking at her butt, me included. But I really wanted to talk with Doug and Chuck, the two most experienced racers in the club. It took a while to get them together and away from the others. I explained what had happened and they thought I was kidding. Neither had ever heard of the rule that I had supposedly broken and they went and found Will (another club sailor) who had once been on the National rules committee. He told us that there was no such rule right up to the time he left the committee, about three years prior. Other than the principle of the thing, it didn’t really matter since I won anyway. But hearing their input I felt somewhat vindicated.
With the four of us away from the mainstream party it was interesting to watch various interactions between the others. All of a sudden we watched a group of people suddenly rush to someone who had fallen. We followed and saw that it was Ronnie. It certainly didn’t surprise me. Frank rushed over and helped her up and over to a chaise on the patio. I remember shaking my head as he fetched her another drink.
Elle, Buddy, Carol, Ruthann and Jimbo had found a few chairs and were sitting out on the lawn just in front of the patio. When I joined them I couldn’t find another vacant chair so I stood behind Elle. From that position I could see Ronnie lying on the chaise and it looked like she was passed out. A little while later I saw her roll off the chaise and onto the ground. I mustv'e been the first one to see her because no one made any attempt to help her. When I got there there was a puddle under the chaise. When I tried to help her up she mumbled something that I didn’t understand. As I got her up and back onto the chaise Frank and a couple of other people arrived. I backed away and Frank proceeded to tell her to stay on the chaise and not to move. As drunk as she was I couldn’t understand why he didn’t take her inside. When I got back to the group I heard someone ask if she’d ”pissed herself“. I looked back over to where she was and the puddle was directly under where her butt was positioned on the chaise. I felt the rush of a bulge and couldn’t believe that I’d been that close to her (and the puddle) not to have realized what she’d done. Actually, I was mad that I hadn’t seen the creation of the puddle since the spotlight on the house shone directly on it. So close and yet so far.
As I said it was only club racing the next day. I don’t remember how we did. Since I’d missed the first races of the season and was not in contention for the season long prizes it wasn't important to me. What I do remember from that day was that one of my old sailing friends (Paul) from when I first started racing showed up with his new wife. He was in the ROTC program in college and was now home on leave. He decided to come to the club to see who was still around. His wife was definitely worth a second look and most of the guys were taking more than one. He hadn’t raced or sailed in a couple of years and it was obvious he really wanted to get back out on the water. One of the regular guys wasn’t feeling all that well (the party the night before?) and wasn’t going to race. He offered to let Paul take his boat out to introduce his wife to sailing. As I've explained before, to put these boats in the water you had to hand carry them from the trailer out into the water. Then the crew, Elle in my case, would wade out into the water to hold it until all the boats were launched. For Elle that was perfect because her shorts would get wet and would hide the ”damage“ if she had to pee. In Paul’s case it was his wife who got the duty. They were both wearing "regular" clothes and not really prepared to go sailing. She was a bit hesitant about getting them wet as well as the idea of sailing itself. The first time I actually paid attention to her was when she tried to get into the boat. The water was calm but somehow she’d walked the boat out to where the water was up to her chest which made it hard to get in. When she tried to get into the boat she had difficulty and got stuck with her wet butt staring right at me. A VPL, especially when wet, has always been a favorite of mine. I don’t remember her name but I do remember her nice, firm butt with the crotch line standing right out.

I’ll go back to a time line for the weekends now. It’s fairly easy as I have reference material relating to the sailboat racing to refer to.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

ALMOST SETTLED... and happy too (Part 62c)
It was that evening when I remembered the panties. I made up some excuse to Elle and made a quick trip to the hall, hoping that no one was there. The main lights were timed to go out at 10pm unless there was a scheduled event. As I approached all I could see was the night lights above the washing machines. I walked in and, still being cautious, walked over to the machines as if I were checking them. At that point all I could do was hope the panties were still there and they were. I was excited!
They were still damp as I pulled them out from under the bench. They felt a little slippery as I balled them up in my hand to hide them from anyone I might run into once outside. I was anxious to inspect them but couldn’t come up with any place that had much light and where I wouldn’t be seen. As much as I hated it I decided that discretion was best and hid the panties under the steps to the trailer. Once in bed I couldn’t get my mind off of them and even thought about getting up when Elle was asleep...but didn’t.
It was my intention to just look at the panties and then to put them, discretely, into the lost and found box when I was done. As I’ve mentioned before, one of my favorite things was to put faces with panties. I knew Elise and had gotten a few panty peeks and this was an opportunity to see a whole pair of hers. They were still a bit damp when I pulled them out from under the steps the next morning. I stuffed them in my pocket and headed for the community hall hoping that no one was yet there. I was in luck and went right for the folding table and spread them out. The waist elastic was what caught my attention first. I felt like I’d seen it before but I couldn’t remember where. My eyes went right to the crotch and noticed it was fairly wide. As I stared at the panties I saw two lace appliques as well as lace around the leg openings. They were really special. I remember putting my hand between the front and back and rubbing. They felt almost as satiny as the Plymouth panties. I then inspected the crotch and I couldn’t find any staining at all. I figured that they must be new or almost new. I looked at the label and saw a pretty pink and black embroidered one that read Shadowline... a name I’d never heard of or seen before. What I did know was that I wanted to see more of them... and I wasn’t going to give these back. (see pic)
As I’d mentioned before, Jim was a heavy equipment mechanic for the local township. When he and Andy, with his bulldozer, were introduced it was an instant friendship. Throw in Mac who was a plane mechanic in the Air Force and you have a pretty tight bond. I fit because of having had a race car. Add in Gabe, an over the road trucker with his own rig, and you had a group of “motor heads”. If you saw one there was often two or three with possibly the exception of Gabe who was often on the road for a week at a time. Gabe lived right across from Andy who lived right next to Mac. I was only a few trailers down the street. Jim was the only one not living in close proximity as he lived on the next street over.
Gabe’s wife, Stella, was an “interesting“ woman in that she did not socialize with the other women in our group. It was sort of strange since Gabe was so friendly. In the few months that I’d lived in the park I’d probably only seen her a dozen times and that was her going from her car to the trailer. From the few glimpses I’d seen of her, I wanted to see more. A ”nice, tight package“ would be a good description. I’d not seen anything that caught my attention on her wash line and that was a disappointment. All I could do was hope.
The ”boys“ (Ben and Dick) had five of the new, longer trailers on display and they were drawing a lot of interest. They were putting a lot of pressure on Andy and I to get the new pads ready. One of Andy’s problems was in getting rid of the downed trees so it was taking longer than expected. He cleared space for six pads but had piled all the felled trees (he’d bulldozed them down, roots and all) onto one of them. Because the ground was almost pure sand grass wouldn’t grow so topsoil had to be brought in and spread. That last part became part of my job description and it was a killer. I couldn’t make the forms for the cement patios until that was done. The only good thing was that I was making about $20 a week more.
I remember one day, while raking dirt on one of the lots, seeing Dick with an attractive lady. She was wearing a sundress and when he took her onto the lot to show her the size of it I got a full silhouette view of her from the waist down. With the sun directly behind her I saw the outline of her thighs right up to her crotch. It was obvious that she wasn’t wearing a slip. As nice looking as she was I also remember hoping that she would end up living in the park.
About a week after Andy had moved in Mac flagged me down, all excited. I stopped and he was all animated, his left arm pointing in the general direction of Andy’s trailer. The ”big news“ was that he’d seen Lil, Andy’s wife, sunbathing in their yard, topless. In the few months that I’d known Mac I’d found some of his ”pronouncements“ to be a little exagerated and this sounded like another one. However, I’d also observed that Lil liked men to look at her and often wore provocative, sexy outfits. In those situations I’d felt that Andy approved. Some comments he made on following days made me feel like he was showing Lil off as much as you would show off a trophy. But Mac was emphatic. I started to back the car up to take a look but he stopped me saying she’d gone inside. In my mind I thought it possible but doing something like that in such an open space made me doubtful. However, I’ll admit I did think about it a bit.

ALMOST SETTLED... and happy too (Part 62b)
One of the first couples we met when we arrived at the park was Jim and Dina. Jim was another really nice guy. I found Dina to be a bit ”distant“ but Elle liked her and my oldest liked her oldest daughter, Dora, and always wanted to go over to her yard to play. Dora and her sister had a lot more toys that my kids so I’m sure that was part of the attraction. Both Elle and Dina had made half hearted attempts at toilet training the oldest kids. Dora was about 6 or 7 months older than my oldest (I don’t think I’ve ever used her name... Jean) and was approaching 3 years of age. I remember Elle making a comment or two to me that she thought that Dora was a little ”slow”.
I remember Jean would walk up to Elle and say “potty” and then walk away. What she was really doing was saying that she’d gone potty... in her panties. Elle just couldn’t get her to tell her when she needed to go. Another thing was the fact that we had one of those shallow plastic pools that I’d salvaged when one family had moved from the park. Elle never let Jean or any other kids use it when she wasn’t present, making sure she emptied it whenever she went inside. But Jean would usually stay in her wet bathing suit and stay out side playing. So, to her, a pair of peed in panties was about the same as being in a wet bathing suit. Elle had to make sure she was diapered when in the trailer or when we went anywhere outside the park. One evening we went over to visit with Jim and Dina and were sitting in the yard watching the kids playing. I happened to watch Dora get up from where she was playing and just stand there and pee through her clothes and then just sit back down and continue what she’d been doing. Jean, who was right next to her did the exact same thing. I wanted to call her over to tell her that wasn’t the right thing to do but Elle, who had also observed the same thing, motioned for me to keep my mouth closed not wanting to embarrass Dina and Jim. I knew that talking to Jean later would do no good so just kept it to myself but was a bit concerned.
In talking to Jim I discovered that his cousin was a race car driver at the local track. I knew his name and remembered that he’d started racing right at the time I “sold” (HA!) my car to my brother. Jim wanted me to go to the races but I was sort of committed to the parties put on by the guys I raced my sailboat with AND, the fact that Elle was really happy that I hadn’t renewed my interest in car racing. But, the seed had been planted.
My daily routine had me starting every day at the community hall making sure that it had been cleaned up properly and collecting the trash. I also had to get the quarters from the washing machines and make sure that they were working. There were only two and they were constantly in use and it was obvious that they were worn out. The big complaint, starting with Elle and her friends, was that the clothes would come out almost dripping. The spin cycle wouldn’t get all the water out. Ben hated to call for service on them but hated the ladies bitching at him even more so, about once a week he would. One day I happened to be at the hall when the service man was there. After chatting with him for a few minutes I found that his father and mine had gone to school together. Once we had that commonality established he candidly told me that the owners were wasting money trying to keep the machines going. One problem was that they were not made for heavy use. He told me the main problem was that they were being overloaded with clothes and that caused the belt that turned the tub to slip and eventually break. Being somewhat inquisitive I asked if I could watch him do the repair. He had no problem with that and I saw it was fairly easy to adjust or change a belt once you got the machine away from the wall. I even talked him into leaving few belts behind for future use.
Initially, I had envisioned finding a panty treasure or two when checking on the machines. What I found in the lost and found box was mostly little kids clothes and mismatched socks. Every morning there were always a few stray pieces to add to the box. On this one morning I found a machine filled with water and clothes. There was a way for me to short circuit the coin box and when I did the motor ran but the tub didn’t turn. I knew what the problem was... a broken belt. I did have a replacement but I had to move the machine out from the wall. Easier said than done. Like the machine in the trailer that I’d worked on, I had to empty the tub of both clothes and water to get it out far enough to get under it. It was not the way I wanted to start my day. With the other machine right there, and empty, I started pulling the wet clothes out and into it. It only took a few handfuls to get my attention. As I dropped what I had in my hand I recognized a ladies blouse as belonging to Mac’s wife, Elise. I remember thinking that at least it didn’t belong to some golden ager in the park. With that knowledge I started to do a little sorting as I went through the transfer. It took a while but in one handful I found three pair of panties and a bra. As I’ve mentioned before, wet nylon was a turn on for me and just having those panties in my hand started a bulge. I tried to put them to the side inside the tub to go back later to inspect them closely. By the time the clothes were transferred one of the residents had showed up to do her wash. I was a little upset that I had to move the clothes again and up onto the folding bench and when I did I dropped a pair of the panties (not intentionally) on the floor. I actually kicked them under the bench as I went back to the broken machine. After draining the water from the tub and replacing the belt I put the clothes back in the machine and put them through the spin cycle. I didn’t dare take a look at the panties when I did nor did I fetch the panties that were still under the bench as the lady was still there. So, reluctantly, I left and went on to my other chores.

ALMOST SETTLED... and happy too (Part 62a)
With the exception of not making enough money to cover our needs I was very happy with life about then. Things had never been better between Elle and I. She was really content knowing I was almost always nearby. In just the short time we’d been living at the trailer park I’d spent more quality time with her (and the kids) than at any time since we’d been married. Because of that she was more than willing to “reward” me in many ways especially when it came to letting me “play” with her in wet panties. I knew from a late night discussion we had when we were still dating that she really couldn’t believe that I wasn’t turned off by her incontinence. By now she knew that it was the opposite and had allowed it to be fully incorporated into our sex life. But the past few weeks had been especially good. Where in the past I would sometimes have to ask (or maybe plead a bit) it now seemed that she was waiting for me with a bit of a “surprise”. Knowing that I always liked to see her in her panties she would indulge me in the mornings before work and after the girls were put to bed. I never got tired of it. I was always cognizant of her not wanting to embarrass herself out in public so never “pushed” her in those situations. Sometimes, though, she’d give me a treat like not wiping when she was especially happy and knew the chances were slim that anyone would know. I wouldn’t be able to do much, if anything, with it but knowing that she’d done it for me was enough. Life was good!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
At this point in time it’s almost impossible for me to remember the time line for things in and around the trailer park. I’ll list a few of my memories that I’m pretty sure took place that August and then go back to a time line for other activities to finish out the month.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The brothers who owned the park, Ben and Dick, were often at odds with each other. The big money to be made was in selling new trailers but the newer ones were longer than could be accommodated as the park was presently laid out. It was during that Summer that they finally committed to enlarging the park by adding 15 new “pads” (what the lots were called in the business) around the perimeter. Ben was as “tight” with a dollar as they come so his input was to do it as cheaply as possible. To this end he hired a newly retired Navy Seabee who owned a bulldozer to clear the land. He offered me a raise (25 cents an hour) and promised to pay me for a full 40 hours plus time and a half for any hours worked over 40. One of the conditions was that I would make the forms for the new cement patios. Of course I said “yes” because it guaranteed me at least an extra $10 a week. But what I didn't know was that he had figured it would have to pay me half of what a professional would have cost to build the forms. A hidden benefit was that I got to know the guy on the bulldozer. His name was Andy and a really good guy. On about the third day he was there I got to meet his wife, Lillian, when she brought him his lunch. She was cute, for sure! I knew from talking with Andy that she was younger than he was. She had short, dark reddish hair, trim figure and VERY short shorts. I just happened to be walking home for lunch when she was climbing up on the dozer to hand him his lunch. I saw a really nice butt with pale green panties hanging out from under the cuffs of her shorts. That was enough to get my attention but Andy called me over to introduce me. That gave me a chance to get up closer and my eyes never left those little wisps of nylon as I approached. I know she knew what I was looking at and she made no effort to hide it from my stare. I’ll never forget it.
One thing that came from Andy working at the park was that he bought a used trailer and moved right in. I was pleased about that. He’d been renting an apartment and wasn’t happy with the location especially with having to find a place to keep the dozer. Ben, always eager to cut a “deal“, not only sold Andy a trailer but offered to give him free rent for a year in lieu of paying him for the work he was doing. They moved right in and soon afterward I brought Elle and my two girls down to welcome them to the park. Elle and Lil hit it off right away. Of course I had my eyes peeled for another panty peek and I wasn’t disappointed. I couldn’t wait to see what was to go up on their clothes line.

SETTLING IN... still more changes (Part 61h)
The trophy presentation was bittersweet. I would rather have accepted the first place trophy without getting it because of a disqualification. However, there was still resentment that the officials had cheated me out of a hard earned win on a technicality that they wouldn't or couldn’t show me in the rule book. As I accepted the trophy with Elle by my side I called the twins up to stand beside us. I told the audience that they had actually tied with me and, aside form not having the first place trophy, they would always know in their minds that they had also won.
Getting off the island was it’s usual mess. From the time I got the car and boat in line it was over two hours until we got on the ferry. I had Elle and Ruthie wait at the clubhouse (giving Elle ready access to a bathroom) for about two hours before coming down to join me in the car. It was almost dark when we got to Elle’s parents house to pick up the kids. Thankfully, they had something for us to eat before we headed for the trailer. The kids were asleep when we arrived at the trailer so we put them right to bed. We both needed a shower and I convinced Elle that we should shower together. We were in our bedroom and had started to undress. I couldn’t wait to see Ruthie's panties. As soon as Elle's shorts dropped to the floor I had my hand in her crotch and my other arm around her. I could feel that the panties were a little wet so started kissing her. She tried to pull away. I asked what was wrong and she said she was ”leaking“ and didn’t want to pee on the floor. She rushed past me but I was right with her. She was trying to pull the panties down as she waddled up to the toilet. I grabbed her by her shoulders and turned her and sort of pushed her down on the toilet and then squatted in front of her. My hand went right between her legs and the wet warmth of her pee flowed over my fingers as I rubbed lightly. As soon as I tried to slip a finger inside the elastic she jumped up, almost knocking me over. As she headed for the bedroom I could see the panties had little blue flowers on them but at that moment I was more interested in what was to happen next. I think we both enjoyed it!
The first thing I did the next morning was to inspect Ruthie’s panties. Elle had thrown them into the tub when she’d gotten washed up. She was getting the kids up so I had a little time to take a look at them. As soon as I saw the waist elastic I knew they were made by Carter’s, the same company that made the majority of Elle’s heavy cotton panties. But these were different. They weren’t the heavy ribbed cotton but the softer combed cotton like my T shirts. They still had the band legs rather than elastic and, in looking at the label, the sizing read ”medium“ rather than the age number (like 14 or 16) in the heavy cotton panties or a single number (5 6 or 7) like the nylon panties. The little flowers were cute and I actually liked them. Even though they were still damp from Elle having wet them I also did a close inspection of the crotch. Maybe it was my imagination but I thought there was a little discoloration under the yellow tint of Elle’s pee. When I put them back in the tub I had a full blown hard on and just hoped Elle didn’t walk in.
The skirting that I wanted to put under the trailer had come in over the weekend and I asked Dick if I could start installing it without making a payment. When he said I could I took it right to the trailer. Even thought it wasn’t yet installed just seeing it piled in the yard made Elle happy. She told me to come inside as she had a surprise for me. I was still ”on the clock“ but I could smell that Elle was baking so went inside eagerly. As soon as I walked in I could see a sheet of cookies cooling on top of the stove and went right over to them. Chocolate chip... my absolute favorite! As I chomped down on a couple I wondered where Elle had gone. No sooner had the thought entered my mind when she appeared with a silly grin on her face. She walked right up to me and took my right hand and put it in her crotch area. It was wet and warm. WOW! Two surprises!
She let me ”play” and even let me inside but it was only for a minute or so. I remember her backing away from me kind of waving “good bye” and leaving me there with a big bulge. I followed her but she had coyly shut the bathroom door. As much as I wanted to pursue the lead she’d given me I knew I had to get back to work. As I drove back to the office I remember having happy thoughts about what might be up after we put the girls to bed.
After supper I started putting the attaching rail for the skirting up under the trailer. It was not an easy or fun job. When I finally got the hang of it I was on the side of the trailer facing Tom and Lola’s trailer. Lying on the ground I had a great view of Lola playing in their yard with one of their boys. I stopped what I was doing when she was on her back with her legs propped up and her son on top of her knees. She was wearing a pair of dark blue shorts and the white of her panties was a stimulating sight. It reminded me that I should be watching her clothes line a little more carefully.

SETTLING IN... still more changes (Part 61g)
Elle and I elected to not attend the usual Saturday night party with our sailing club friends. We wanted to spend some time with our girls plus we were still recovering from the battering our bodies had taken during Friday’s race. On Sunday, the race wasn’t scheduled to start until noon so as to give church goers some time for their activities so we also got some time with the girls in the morning. Elle had decided she was going to wear a ”package“ so as to eliminate the possibility of more embarrassment, such as she’d had to endure on Saturday. I told her that she’d end up being very uncomfortable as it was supposed to be very warm. With the plastic panties not being able to breath I could just see her suffering. But she had the last word.
Buddy and Carol picked us up and, as Buddy was planning on bringing his boat back after the race, he took the car on the ferry over to the island. We were surprised to see Jimbo and Ruthie and not their car. Jimbo explained that he had to catch a flight for a business trip that evening and was afraid that if he took the car over he might not make it in time. We all knew that getting off the island after the races was an ordeal and he felt that by leaving his car on the mainland that he’d have little or no trouble. Ruthie did ask if either Buddy or I would drive her home after the races and for some unknown reason I said I would. I wanted to kick myself for saying "yes" I would as it was quite a distance out of our way... but I had committed to it.
Elle and I set about getting our boat ready for the race. While we were doing it Ruthie walked up and asked if she could leave her change of clothes in my car. I watched her drop the bag through the window and then walk off. I know I was looking for a VPL but if I saw one I don’t remember it. When we headed out to the race course we found very light winds. I knew I had to beat John if I was going to win the series and decided to take an aggressive approach. I knew I was taking a chance by relying on the knowledge I had of the tidal currents but felt it was my best chance. Right after the start I split from the majority of the competitors and went to the left side of the race course. The race officials had set a small course and directed us to go three times around it with the caveat that if the wind didn’t pick up they would eliminate one of them.
John had gotten a great start and was clearly in front. But, he also knew that he had to beat me if he was to win the series. A common strategy in that situation is for the lead boat to ”cover“ (mimic every move) his biggest competition. As the rest of the fleet changed direction John followed me. As I said, I knew my strategy was risky and it proved to be so as the wind shifted putting me, and John to some degree, somewhat at a disadvantage from the others. When we finished the first time around we were eighth and John was fifth... not where either of us wanted to be. At that point all I could do was hope that we did get to go around three times knowing that my boat was fairly fast ”off the wind“, which made up two legs of the course. As we headed for the start finish line the second time around I heard the signal for shortening the course. We’d made up three of the boats we needed but John was right in front of us... and I needed to be in front of him. John finished fourth and we finished fifth giving John the winners trophy. I was pissed... at the race officials for disqualifying me on Friday and Elle knew enough not to say anything to me as we sailed to the clubhouse. Once there she climbed up the ladder and walked off. In spite of wearing the ”package“ there was wetness showing around her butt cheeks where the leg elastics went. Her leaving made my job of getting the boat hoisted out of the water more difficult. Once I did I started unrigging the boat so I could ready it for trailing back home. As I did I saw the twins approaching and as they did one called out ”Congratulation!“ That wasn’t what i wanted to hear... congratulations for finishing second. They probably saw the look on my face and then announced that I’d won. Now, at that point I was confused. I don’t remember what I said but it had to have contained something about John finishing ahead of me. When they told me that he’d been disqualified it started to make sense. They told me he’d crossed the starting line early and hadn’t returned to recross it. That explained why he’d jumped out to the lead so fast.
I’d paid little attention to who had finished first or second , concentrating on my race with John. As it turned out the twins had won and Jimbo was second. Actually, I tied with the girls but because I’d beaten then in two out of the three races I got the win. As strange as it sounds I felt bad for the girls as this was, by far, the best they’d ever done. They’d tied for first but would be going home with the second place trophy. Jimbo ended up in third place which was exciting for Ruthie as it was the first trophy that they’d won since starting to sail together.
I went looking for Elle and found her with Ruthie at Jimbo’s boat. They hadn’t heard the news so it was exciting to watch their reactions. When I walked over to Elle she had a small bundle in her hand. It was her wet panties and plastic pants. I noticed that she was wearing shorts that I didn’t recognize. I apologized for the way I’d acted after the finish of the race and gave her a kiss. I started leading her back to the boat and asked why she wasn’t wearing the change of clothes that she’d brought with her. She told me that they were locked in Buddy’s car and he hadn’t made it back to the clubhouse. Ruthie offered up her clothes as she was dry and didn’t need them. My mind, always wired to panties, realized that Elle was wearing Ruthie’s panties as well. I could feel a bulge starting.

SETTLING IN... still more changes (part 61f)
As we’d done in years past, to save money, Buddy drove the four of us home leaving my car behind on the island. The plan was for him to pick us up the next morning and then we’d leave his car on the mainland and walk on the ferry and then to the clubhouse. Elle and I were bruised and sore and were happy to see calm winds as we rode the ferry to the island. I was anxious to see just how many boats had actually finished and when I saw the posted results I almost had a heart attack. I wasn’t listed as having won. I showed up as being disqualified. Any racer can protest another racer and once the protest is acknowledged by the race officials they hold a hearing to make a determination. I’d never been close enough to another racer the whole day to have committed a foul. Not only that but I’d never been notified that I was being protested. I was very upset! I went looking for the race officials but was told that I would have to wait until the races for the day were over before being able to speak to them. Needless to say that when I went out on the racecourse that morning I was almost a raging lunatic.
Fortunately, the winds had died down to almost nothing. Three of my competition on Friday had to withdraw on Saturday due to damage to their boats and/or equipment. There were five people who hadn’t sailed (lucky for them!) who were now competing, including the twins, Pam and Penny, my sailing friends from many years before. I managed to control my rage enough to concentrate on the race at hand and was able to draw from my years of experience with the local tidal and water currents and pulled out a win. After the last boat finished I sailed back past the race officials and sarcastically asked if I was protested out of this race too but didn’t get a response.
Elle had a bit of a problem in that there was no logical way for her to get wet like she did prior to the races at our home club. The boats got hoisted into the water and then the crews climbed down a ladder to get in which meant her clothes were dry when we started. With little wind and no waves to get her bottom wet, when she peed it left a very noticeable spot on her butt. Because I was so upset when we'd left the dock I gave no thought to Elle and that she’d have a problem when we came ashore for lunch. She ended up staying in the boat to avoid the obvious embarrassment and I got Carol to join her. She wasn’t very happy with me.
Being around some of the ”old timers“ that I hadn’t seen in at least two years helped my demeanor. We got caught up with what each of us was doing in our lives. The twins had just graduated from college and were taking the Summer off, just ”goofing“. One of the guys had gotten married but his wife didn’t like sailing so he felt that this might be his last Summer of competition. When it was time to go out for the afternoon race I was in a pretty good mood. I suggested to Elle that I bring her change of clothes with us and that if she had to she could at least do it in the boat before we came ashore. I could see from the look on her face that she wasn’t thrilled with that idea.
We pretty much drifted around the racecourse and the best I could do was finish second. The guy who had finished second to me in the morning (John) won so that meant we were tied and the race on Sunday would decide who the champion would be. Again, Elle was faced with coming ashore with a wet butt. I finally convinced her to at least take off her shorts and to sit, in her panties, on the dry part of them and to try and draw away the wetness. She made me sail away from the rest of the boats which made me somewhat mad. One of the benefits of finishing up front was that you didn’t have to wait as long at the hoist. The one nice thing, though, was that I got her to sit inside the boat with her legs open. I told her that it would allow her crotch to dry so it wouldn’t show when she put her dry shorts on. She did it but had one of "those" looks on her face as she sat there.
As promised, I finally got to see the race officials. I was told that they had been the ones to disqualify me. The reason... I’d observed a mark that wasn’t specified on the race circular. I’d been sailing and racing for a dozen years and had never heard of such a rule. I asked if I could protest their decision and was told, rather sternly, that it wasn’t a good idea. It was certainly not my year for dealing with bureaucracy.
At that point in time panty peeks, VPL's or DP’s were not high on my priority list. Neither Buddy, Jimbo or Rex had ever heard of a disqualification like mine. As we all walked to the ferry the four of us were in deep discussion while the women walked on ahead. The foot traffic on the ferry was always heavy on weekends. There were only seats for about a dozen people so most were all forced to stand next to hot automobiles. There was a young woman in a Summer dress who was complaining about it and at first we paid no attention. We were about halfway to the mainland when Jimbo nudged me and nodded his head towards the stairway to the passenger compartment. The woman was standing about four steps up and every so often a puff of air would blow her skirt up. When she’d push the front down the back would come up. It was quite comical and I did get a quick glimpse of light blue panties before she returned to the main deck. Just that little peek took my mind off the disqualification and by the time we landed I had my focus on Ruthie’s butt, searching for a VPL. I was close to being back to "normal" again.

SETTLING IN ... still more changes (part 61e)
I was really looking forward to the weekend and the racing. On Friday I only worked at the trailer park long enough to get the daily chores done, telling Ben that I had personal business to take care of. Of course he reminded me that I only got paid for the hours I worked as I signed out. There were to be four races over a three day period with only three counting. That was done so people who couldn’t get off from work on Friday still had a chance to win or get a prize. For those of us racing all three days we could ”drop“ our worst race.
It was a beautiful sunny day as Elle and I dropped the kids off at her mother’s and picked up the boat. Since the host club itself was located on an island we had to take a ferry over to it. When we got to the ferry slip I asked the deck hands for the times of the tide changes because it was very important to know when racing. As I asked I noticed something that was relatively strange about the wind. It was blowing from the Southeast. Normally wind from the Southeast meant stormy weather like we’d had just two weekends earlier, But there was bright sunshine, blue skies and only a few big white clouds. I could feel there was a good breeze and looked forward to a fun day of racing.
There were eleven different classes of sailboats racing and the larger ones started first and then worked down in size to the smaller ones. My class of boat (Comet) was the third one scheduled to start. The race officials always sent the bigger boats on a different course than the smaller ones and because there was a good amount of wind they decided to send us on to the ”long course“. In all the years I’d raced there I’d only sailed it once. Rather than use temporary bouys to mark the course they used the government markers that were permanently placed to show the main channel for large power boats. At the meeting before we left shore the race officials told us the wind was about 12 miles per hour, something that I felt Elle and I could handle. All in all I felt it was an easy course and felt comfortable even though it would be a longer distance than we normally sailed.
What I and the race officials had failed to realize was that the clubhouse and the harbor where we started from was in the ”lee“ of the island... the lee meaning that the waters were protected from the real wind. I had a good start and was leading when I reached the first government marker which was at the East end of the island. It was a rude awakening as I broke free of the protection that it had offered. Not only was the wind a factor but the waves were a lot bigger than we were used to seeing. With the wind blowing from the Southeast they were actually coming all the way in from the ocean with nothing much to break them up. We only sailed for a few minutes when Elle turned to me and asked if I was really going to continue. My father, who had taught me how to sail and race, had always impressed upon me to finish what I started. He had less of a problem if I chose not to go out (like two weekends before) than if I dropped out. I guess I’m using that as an excuse but I told her that we were going to go on and to try and finish.
It was brutal! The pounding from the waves and the spray that was put up actually hurt as it hit you. I knew exactly where the next marker was and as we rounded it I made a critical decision. If we were to follow the instructions of the race officials we should have rounded that mark and then headed straight back with the wind directly behind us. One thing I’d learned at an early age when sailing this class of boat was that a strong wind directly behind the boat combined with big waves was TROUBLE! To avoid what I felt was certain disaster I chose not to head back but kept on sailing the direction I’d been going in so that, after a while, I could head for the next marker with the wind coming across ”my quarter“. (Picture, if you will, a clock... with the wind directly behind us it would be blowing from six o’clock directly to twelve o’clock. With the wind coming across my quarter it would be blowing from about 4’oclock.) There was another government marker out there and I, arbitrarily, chose to head for it and then round it and head for the next official marker. As we sailed back (very, very fast I might add) I was amazed to see so many capsized sailboats. I’d really not paid attention to my competition with my focus on keeping my own boat upright and Elle somewhat calm. Seeing the carnage I became concerned for Buddy, Rex and Jimbo, my clubmates. There were two other sails way behind me from my class of boat but I couldn’t see the sail numbers or the color of their hulls. When we rounded the East end of the island it was more of the same... boats turned on their sides or sunken down to their decklines and even some with broken masts. When we crossed the finish line the gun went off signifying that we’d won. Normally, that would’ve elicited a display of excitement from me but, having seen all the boats in distress and looking at Elle who was almost in shock, I couldn’t muster any of it up.
Back at the dock where we hoisted the boats in and out with a mechanical winch there was little wait. Because of the large number of boats (about 30) who needed to use the one lift you could expect to wait almost an hour for your turn. As I pulled the boat up to the lifting area Buddy was there to help. Elle scampered up the ladder and Buddy jumped in the boat to help me bail it out before we tried to use the lift. I asked if he and Carol were OK and he laughed. He said that once Carol saw the waves at the end of the island it was all over and they headed back. He said that out of the ten or so Comets that started five turned around and came back in including Rex and Jimbo who, he said, had gone back home. I told him that I only saw two other Comets behind me as we were heading for the finish line. We both wondered who the missing sailors were.
It wasn’t until the boat was up and on the trailer and the sails were off that it really hit me. I guess the adrenaline wore off because, in spite of the temperature being in the 80’s I started shivering as if I were cold. My hands started burning and as I looked at them I saw they were almost raw from holding on to the main sheet (a line {rope} used to pull the sail in and out and that depended on the direction the boat was heading and where the wind was coming from.) I remember having to sit on the grass next to the boat for quite a while to compose myself. It was quite a while before I actually missed Elle. I was a bit embarrassed when I realized it. Carol had taken Elle into the ladies locker room and helped her get changed into dry clothes.

SETTLING IN... still more changes (Part 61d)
After we got the boats ready and hitched to our cars most of us went back to the clubhouse. I’d borrowed a special tool from Frank (his wife being the ex beauty queen) and had forgotten to bring it back. When he reminded me I ran back to the boat to get it. As I walked past Jimbo’s boat I saw someone standing by the driver’s door with it open. I came to a stop and saw it was Ruthie. As I watched I saw her start to step out of of her shorts. Her white panties against the dark material of her shorts seemed to make them stand out even more. As tempted as I was to stay and see the rest of the “show’‘ I moved on not wanting to get caught peeking. Rather than even give her an idea that I’d seen her undressing I chose to go back to the clubhouse by going across the front of the cars. As I walked back I wondered if she’d taken the panties off or left them on. I chose to believe that she’d left them on.
The next week went especially well for me with work and, surprisingly, with the Nutri Bio stuff. Someone had heard there was a Nutri Bio distributor living in the park and had gone to the office to ask if they knew who it was. The lady went to the trailer and Elle sold her what she wanted. But the best part was that she wanted some brochures to give to her friends. I even had the idea of following up to see if she wanted to be a distributor.
It was mid week before I got my first good ”peek“. Mac’s neighbor’s were middle aged with two teen aged children. The husband worked for a local aerospace company and was on a temporary assignment in Texas. They had become good friends with Mac and his wife and whenever the husband was away would call Mac if they needed help. Mac was on duty when the wife called and Mac’s wife, knowing I was working for the park, suggested that she call Elle. Elle told me about it at lunch and I decided to stop on my way back to the office. As I walked in the yard there was a teen aged girl lying on a chaise lounge, asleep. I’d heard Mac talk about this ”sweet young thing“ who lived next door and I assumed that she was the object of his attention. I couldn’t see her face but I had a great peek up both legs of her shorts.
I called the office and Dick told me to go ahead with the job. The problem was that the washing machine drain was clogged. With the washing machine filled with water it was almost impossible to move it so that I could get to the drain. It was jammed into a very tight spot and I wasn’t liking the looks of it. The woman had left to pick up the other daughter so I was on my own. The only thing I could think of was to bail the water out of the machine. I wasn’t happy, at all. I started by pulling the clothes out and piling then into the sink. I’d gotten two or three handfuls out when I saw a ”trophy“... a pair of panties. The wife was a heavy set woman and I knew that one of the teens was supposedly a spitting image of her mother. The size of the panties told me that they belonged to the girl on the chaise. I set them somewhat aside as I continued pulling the wet clothes out. When I was almost done I counted up about a half dozen white panties with a label reading Isis size 4. They weren’t anything special but they did have a nice feel to them. I’m not sure they were nylon but they were made of a synthetic material. They also felt heavier than most of the nylon panties that I’d handled. Thank goodness that I’d probably spent no more than two minutes looking them over as the wife returned with the other teen and I quickly mixed the panties back in with the other wash.
I had to bail the water out with a pot. All in all I spent about three hours and didn’t leave until I was done. It was close to six and I wondered if I’d get paid for the extra time I'd put in. Ben had indicated that when it was 5pm I was to quit and to come back the next day. But I couldn’t leave with the machine in the middle of the bathroom floor. Plus I wanted to see just what the ”sweet young thing“ looked like so I could put the panties to a face... and it was a pretty face. I was about to push the machine back in place when she appeared and was shocked to find the toilet was blocked. She quickly disappeared and I thought no more about it other than I wished I'd seen more of her. The mother thanked me profusely as I left. I was happy just having had the opportunity to see and handle the panties and to see the person who wore them. It was a good day.
One of the realities of working in the trailer park was that there wasn't much money to be made. Fifty dollars a week, even in 1961, didn't go all that far. I was getting low on the Nutri Bio supplies but I just didn't have the cash to replenish in the amount required. Because I was going to be away racing on the weekend I ended up taking my grandfather to the hospital to visit my grandmother. He wasn't pressing me for the return of the money he loaned me to get started but was concerned that I had this college degree and wasn't using it. He stressed that I needed to get looking for a "real" job. He also indicated that he would make some "calls" on my behalf. There wasn't much I could say or do but to nod in agreement.
