AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143z)

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143z)

The judges from the Chamber of Commerce arrived just before the doors were to close for the day. There were two divisions for the costume contest... retail and service. We, because we didn’t sell anything, were in the service division along with other banks, the library, the Town Hall and like entities. Of the three judges two were female. When our contestants were paraded down the stairs for their review I could see the women were really ‘taken’ by Joanie and Laura. Jaz, dressed as a clown, was ‘interesting’ but Ann and Andy were given the prize. It was a $20 gift certificate to the old department store in town. I thought it was a shame because Laura and Joanie weren’t even 20 years old and the store was geared for an older clientele. Gracie had thought the contest concept was a good idea and said she wished they had something like it back where she worked. When I explained that the prize was a bittersweet one she wanted to know why. After explaining she quickly suggested that if I felt that way I should buy it from them. I couldn’t disagree with the reasoning  so I did... much to their delight.

As I’d written, Hobie decried the whole contest idea and had deferred the bank’s  participation to me. That meant I was to be a judge on the retail side. However... with Gracie there doing the training with me I implored him to do it. I was smiling on the inside when I saw him go out the door.

When I did my debrief with Gracie she reinforced my belief in Gina. A comment that I distinctly remember was that she was capable of much, much more than what she was doing. Because there were others around I didn’t feel comfortable in telling her of what was in store for Gina but vowed to myself to let her know when it did happen. On the debrief she also stated that although the processing of the name and addresses had gone slowly she felt that we’d be in good shape by the time of the conversion of the financial records. She also promised that if we got in a bind to ask Bruce or Albie for help.

When Gina was finishing up for the day she commented that the process could be speeded up if there was some sort of stand to rest the Addressograph plates on while the information on them was being typed into the system. She was describing what she thought it might look like when I noticed Laura had taken off her red mop wig. When I did I noticed something else... she’d also removed the bloomers that she’d worn with the rest of the costume. She was at her desk and as I looked at her I noticed something white between her seat and the blue of her skirt. I’d, for sure, noticed how short it had been right from the time I first saw her that day and had somewhat benefited earlier when she returned from lunch... but that was when she was still wearing the bloomers. I tried to pay attention to Gina while also keeping a close watch on Laura hoping that I’d get confirmation of what I thought the white was... panties Gina could feel that I wasn’t really concentrating on what she was saying so said she’d go make a mock up of her idea using cardboard from the back of a yellow legal pad. That presented a bit of a dilemma for me as there was no longer a reason for me to still be standing by the machine.. and behind Laura. I’d felt sure that when she stood up I’d get a good peek of her panties but also knew I had to move.

Even though it had been a slow day as far as lobby traffic was concerned I was anticipating a problem when it came time for the tellers to ’prove up'. I’d learned that on slow days the tellers didn’t concentrate all that well and stupid errors would pop up... and there were two tellers with a problem. One was Lillian the drive up window teller. She, in spite of being a little ‘ditzy’, was, on the whole, an accurate teller. She called to Laura to help her. I was standing at my desk, on the phone, when she stood up an started walking towards the drive-up window and Lillian.  I don’t know (or remember) if I let out a sound as I watched her walk towards Lillian. The blue skirt she was wearing had somehow gotten rolled up when she was sitting and hadn’t unrolled when she stood up. I could see both butt cheeks and most of the rear crotch line for about ten steps before it finally dropped to cover her panties... but not by much. I went back to the conversation on the phone but still kept an eye on Laura. Just as I hung up the phone Bret came up and sort of whispered for me to look over to the drive-up area. Laura was now behind Lillian and leaning over looking at something on her counter. I won’t accuse Bret of panting but it was something close to it. Laura’s panties weren’t showing as much as when she’d first started walking over there but there was a fair amount of white under the hem of the blue skirt. At that point I had to sit down to hide my ever increasing bulge.

When Hobie returned from his judging duties he called me over. I thought it was to complain about his wasting time on something he didn’t think was worthwhile. He surprised me by talking about Gina. That actually scared me as I thought that he’d somehow found out that she would be leaving. But that wasn’t it at all. He told me he’d been watching her over the past few weeks and had an opportunity to speak with Gracie about her. Then he dropped the ‘bomb’ when he said that he’d been thinking about Lorie filling the new position of Chief Clerk and that maybe she wasn’t the best choice.

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143y)

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143y)

Elle need not have worried about the kids bothering Gracie. She was up before any of us. The normal routine was for Elle to rouse the girls while I went down stairs to shower. I got there and saw some clothes on the end of the counter so went looking for Gracie. She was in the den watching the TV with the volume turned way down. She looked to be dressed and ready to go as I walked in on her. I remember her smiling at me saying she had to have her “morning fix” of the Today show. Neither Elle nor I were coffee drinkers but we did have coffee and a pot so offered them to her.  She thanked me and said she’d wait until we were ready for breakfast. I told her I was showering and that Elle should be down fairly soon.

Walking back into the kitchen I again spied the clothes on the counter. I knew it was my only chance for a peek so went over to them and pulled open the drawer right under them as a reason for being there. A quick glance of the pile told me she’d only worn her blouse and skirt as a cover-up because there was no slip or bra showing. I debated a second before picking up the blouse and when I did I was rewarded. There were the ‘dimpled’ panties I expected to see. I really wanted to pick them up to inspect the crotch but didn’t have the nerve. As I walked back to the bathroom I had a soft bulge and hoped Gracie had stayed put watching TV.

There was little we could do without Gina so there was no point going in early. I took her down to the bay to show her my parents house pointing out where Elle’s family lived. She thought that growing up together and then marrying was really something special. I drove her by the sailing club and passed by the house that her neighbors Summered in. I got the impression she really appreciated it. She told me her son had loved his time there when he visited with them.

I’d completely forgotten about it being Halloween until we walked into the lobby. Bret had rounded up a total of five employees willing to get dressed up. There were two real surprises... Laura and Joanie. Jaz, and Netta had done it the previous year and I knew Lillian had volunteered but I had no idea, at all, about the other two. They were dressed as Raggedy Ann and Andy. Laura was Ann and they’d gotten cotton mops and dyed them red for their hair. If Bret hadn’t told me right after Gracie and I arrived I wouldn’t have known who they were. “Ann“ was wearing a blue mini skirt that was VERY short with a white apron and red socks. What really was an eye grabber for me was that she had on a pair of old timey bloomers to complete the outfit. Joanie was wearing a pair of denim coveralls with the cuffs rolled up showing red socks as well in her role as Andy. An oversized plaid shirt finished it off. I couldn’t help but think they would be in line for a prize.

Gina had been ready to go when we walked in. Basically, Gracie did the same thing with Gina as she’d done with me showing her the ‘guts’ of the machine and explaining how she could sometimes ‘short circuit’ a problem without having to call for service. I didn’t need to hear or see it again but I hung around anyway. Back during my training I distinctly remembered seeing Gracie on her haunches and kind of ooching around a bit to avoid getting up and back down as she pointed out the various components and me getting an eyeful as she did. I hoped I might get another dose as I stood back a ways from them. As luck (bad) would have it Gina ended up blocking my sight line for Gracie. I was disappointed but not for long. Gracie motioned for Gina to move over so she could point something out to her and when she did I got what I was waiting for. Gina, on her haunches, picked up one leg and put it down almost a foot away from the other one leaving me with an incredible up-skirt view. My eyes were focused on a bright white triangle. She probably only held that position for ten or so seconds but it was long enough. I actually think I moved before she did.

Gracie ran some tests to confirm that the center was ready to process our transmissions. After getting the OK Bret and I watched as Gina entered the first nameplate. A little tenuous at first it only took a short time for her to get into a routine. Bret and I had decided to have Cara be the second one to learn the machine so, with lobby traffic relatively slow I suggested he bring her over. She really didn’t want to do it but knew she had to. It was not a surprise that Jacqui, after her ‘accident’ the day before, hadn’t come in to work. That presented a bit of a problem because, with two tellers undergoing training and a third one absent, we were operating with just three tellers. I told Bret that he’d have to be the ‘traffic cop’ and to let Cara know if she was needed.

The ‘fates’ were with the bank that day as the only time we had to suspend the inputting was during lunch hour(s). during that time it worked out, at least for me, in that Gracie was able to reinforce the numeric input of data that she’d shown me at the service center. The center had created a ‘fake bank’ for us to use when training the tellers on deposits and withdrawals and I used the time to get somewhat comfortable with the process. As I had mentioned, Gracie was ‘all business’ and when Gina returned from her lunch break turned her attention to her. When I asked about lunch she blithely replied she could do without it. Maybe she could but I was hungry.

With the new machines set up behind Laura’s desk I would occasionally take a look in her direction. The really short skirt of her costume kept grabbing my attention. I was hoping to catch her bending over to see if I could see anything through the bloomers she was wearing. All morning long my timing was off because I’d come close and it seemed like I would just miss. When Gina came back from her lunch I took a moment to ask her how she liked the new machine. She was in the process of telling me that it was a lot easier to operate than what we presently were using when Laura returned from lunch. When she did she opened the bottom drawer of her desk and bent over to put something in it. It was a Kodak moment only I didn’t have a camera. The material of the bloomers was very sheer and I had one great view of SanSoucie panties, the ones I’d given her. It was 100% better than a VPL!

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143x)

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143x)

Because of all the disruptions I’d not been able to spend much time on getting the final details worked out on the name and address project. I’d just started in again when Trish came over to tell me that there was a woman named Gracie there to see me. I looked up and, sure enough, there she was. My first words were to say “You’re not supposed to be here until tomorrow!” It wasn’t “Hello.” and it wasn’t “Welcome.” The look on her face was one of embarrassment as she walked over to my desk. At that moment I wasn’t sure who’d screwed up but I knew I had a real problem on my hands.

I’d put off finding a place for Gracie to stay. My intentions had been to do it first thing after arriving at work. As you just read... I was a bit distracted... and then forgot completely about it and Gracie too. There was no point in placing blame so I took the ‘heat’ and told her that I still didn’t have a room for her. I don’t know what she was thinking but I knew I was in a bit of a bind in coming up with a decent place that was fairly local. Bret was at his desk and I knew his sister had worked at a bed and breakfast for a short time. I called over to him and when he turned around I introduced him... and told him of my plight. He said he knew the people who ran the B & B and would call. I tried to make ‘small talk’ with Gracie while he did and while I was doing it I saw Trish with her phone in her hand and pointing at me with it. I got the message that it was important so excused myself and went to her desk. It was Elle. The station wagon had stopped just before she got to her mother’s house and she and the kids had walked the last bit. I don’t know why but I asked her if she was out of gas. She said she didn't know so i told her to go check on it. When she returned to the phone she said the “thing on the dashboard was on E”. That was a big OOOPS and it was all on me. I’d had the station wagon all day Saturday and hadn’t paid any attention to how much gas was in it.

I knew her father kept a can of gas in his garage and told her to get her mother to go find it for her. By then I was getting concerned about leaving Gracie sort of in limbo. While I waited for Elle to get back to me Bret came up to say there were no rooms available at the B & B. When Elle finally came back on the line to say they’d found the gas can was when it came back to me that Gracie had put me up when I went for my training. I’d told Elle about it at the time and she’d commented that it’d been nice of her to do that. With that memory front and center in my mind I told Elle that we’d be having an overnight guest. Before she could say anything I proceeded to hang up on her. I knew that would come back on me but also I knew I had to placate Gracie before she got upset. When I told her of my solution I did warn her that I had three kids and that we’d be doing some shuffling around after we got to the house. Right about then the look on her face told me she’d accept just about anything.

After that was settled there was still some time to show her how we'd set up for the project. As soon as Gina was ‘in proof’ I introduced Gracie to her and kind of stepped back to listen. Gracie was all business and wasted no time. After a short time I knew I’d picked the right one when I chose Gina. She was really into the project and I could see that she and Gracie would work well together. When 5pm arrived Gracie was disappointed. I remembered back to when I was at the service center for my training and how Gracie was willing to stay as long as I was. However, Gina had to get home to her daughter and after explaining the situation Gracie seemed to understand.

The trip to my house was spent going over what Gracie hoped to accomplish the next day. She was all ‘business’ and I hardly got in a word. By the time we made the turn into the driveway I had a good idea of how we were going to proceed the next morning. When Gracie saw the house she ‘shifted gears’ and wanted to know how Elle felt about having a stranger in her house. She didn’t believe me when I told her I didn’t know as I really hadn’t discussed it with her. Her response was one fitting a mother as she chastised me for being “insensitive”. I told her not to worry which only got me a ‘look’ but no words.

Elle was very gracious when introduced to Gracie. However, the look I got as Gracie walked into the living room to meet the kids spoke volumes. Elle, wisely, had fed the kids and they were playing games on the floor. The older two were pretty much over being shy around strangers but Kaye, the youngest, wasn’t. Upon seeing Gracie she jumped up and ran to Elle. Gracie went over to see what game the girls were playing and squatted down to chat with them. My heart skipped a beat for a second but Gracie turned a bit so her back was more to me than her front. I stood there watching and listening to them when I heard Gracie make a suggestion to one of the girls about a move to make in the game and reached across the board. When she did I saw a good bit of flesh and two separate lines of elastic showing on her back. I was less than four feet away. Remembering her ‘dimpled’ panties I tried to discern the two elastics and it was fairly easy as one was wider than the other. I was sure it was for the ‘dimpled’ panties. To me it meant she really liked them. It made we wonder if I’d get to sneak a peek into her overnight bag.

It was Gracie’s turn to be gracious when she insisted that Elle not go out of her way for what to have for supper. She said spaghetti with meat sauce would be fine. Elle would make up a big batch of sauce and freeze some, especially when colder weather was almost upon us. The big decision was in what room would Gracie sleep.

Each of the older girls had a spare bed in their room but the question was who was going to have to vacate for the night. Neither wanted to but with Anne being the last to get her own room it had to be her. Gracie made a big deal out of how nice Anne was to move and it seemed to work as Anne stood there absorbing the praise. Once all the girls were in bed Gracie, Elle and I sat in the den and chatted. Gracie brought up the fact that her son had spent a little time in the area staying with a family that Elle and I both knew. For Gracie, it was the first time she’d ever been this far East and couldn’t get over the fact that we were, basically, surrounded by farm land. When we finally headed upstairs to bed Elle warned Gracie that the kids would be getting up at 7am and hoped they wouldn’t bother her. She laughed and said that would be like “sleeping in” for her.

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143w)

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143w)

On the way to Moira’s ”B“ outlined his idea for the party. He wanted to get a stripper because Martin was so ‘straight laced’ and he thought it’d really be funny watching him react. But there was a local law that prohibited strippers any place where food was served. One of the people I knew had managed to get around it by having a belly dancer and I’d told ”B“ about it a while back.  So he wanted me to follow up on it for him. He also wanted me to find a venue for the party. The problem I had with it was that although I got to know Martin when “B” had his race car and then when he started dating Sabrina, the neighbor, I wasn’t all that close to him. If Martin didn’t appreciate the idea I didn’t want to be saddled with being the organizer. I told “B” I'd do some“digging” and get back to him. By then we were back to Moira’s house.

I picked out the dresser body I wanted and located the drawers that went with it. There was room in the back of my station wagon for it so loaded it in and was ready to leave. Moira called me back and into the house before I could pull away. I pretty much knew it was to thank me and hoped she didn’t make a big thing of it. She wanted to say that she felt she owed me more than words for the help and caring I’d shown her. I know what you’re thinking and, no, it wasn’t that at all. In retrospect, it was because she was raised ‘old school’, by immigrant parents who took pride in doing things for themselves and passed that on to their kids. I didn’t know what to say and probably mumbled some inane words just to escape. When I did I knew I hadn’t heard the last of it.

The new (to us) dresser didn’t completely placate Elle for my lack of communication with her. (Where were cell phones when I really needed them?) However, Anne was excited which took some of the ‘heat’ off. I have no notes for or recollections about the rest of the weekend so it’s on to the following week.

Arriving at work I was distressed to see about seven or eight employees standing outside waiting to be let in. Walking up to the door Mike was no where to be seen. Having my own key I let them in and asked Trish to monitor the door while I went to find Mike. Elena, the mortgage teller, told me he was in the ladies bathroom. That was the one over by the drive-up window. Making the turn into the hall to get there I could see Mike with a mop and a pail. I asked what happened and he pointed to the ceiling. The water pipes for the bathroom right above us were ran up the wall and through a  small conduit like opening and water was coming through it. I was a bit upset that he hadn’t gone to find the source of the water as I made my way up the back stairs to the bathroom just outside the Board room. Originally put in for the Board members it became the ladies room when the full second floor was added. As soon as I entered I could see water spraying from the plumbing connection attached to the toilet tank. I tried to turn the valve to shut off the water supply but couldn’t even budge it. Surveying the situation I determined that pails wouldn’t be the solution and that only cutting off the source of the water would suffice. I hoped there might have been a valve back on the first floor but there wasn’t.

The plumber the bank used happened to be one of Bret’s neighbors so I tasked him with the job of getting in touch with him. A cell phone would’ve been helpful but we were fifteen to twenty years from that. I was able to round up some rags that we used to help take up some of the water until he arrived. About a half hour later he arrived and within minutes the flow was stemmed. He didn’t take long to find the cause of the leak but the first problem was going to be in finding a replacement for the faulty part. The second was that with the water turned off the bank was down to but two bathrooms... one was the public one and the other was the one the men used and was located right next to Hobie and my desks.

With 25 females between the two floors it ended up being almost a steady stream of them, coming and going, all morning but we managed. When I returned from lunch I was greeted at the gate by Bret. There was now an additional problem... Jacqui, one of the tellers, had had an ‘accident’ returning from her lunch. It wasn’t a wet one but the other kind. I knew that she had some digestive problems because, over a period of time, she’d been out because of the condition. Luckily, up to then, it hadn’t affected her at work. Trish was trying to be the ‘go between’ and was trying to help as best she could in getting Jacqui cleaned up enough to go home.

The bathroom was really only big enough for one person. Since it was the men’s room there wasn’t much in there to help her with her plight... a bar of soap, toilet paper and paper towels. As soon as I heard about the situation I went to the petty cash and got $10, gave it to Trish and told her to go next door to the W.T. Grant store to buy a wash cloth and towel for her to use. She was just about to go out the gate when it came to me that Jacqui would also need panties if the situation was a dire as I’d been led to believe. I tried to be as casual about the last part as I could until I reminded her about size. Up to then Trish had been pretty serious but that brought a smile to her face. As she disappeared from sight I could feel that my cheeks were flushed.

As much of a ‘panty man’ as I was (and am) there were limits as to just how far I’d go to get my hands on a pair that a female had worn. This was one of those times. I didn’t even want to go in the room to sneak a peek in the waste basket after she'd vacated it. Mike got the dubious duty of emptying the trash can and there was still a lingering smell an hour after she’d left. While all this was going on we were down to just one working toilet. I had visions of a few wet ‘accidents’ but if there were any I never found out about them. Even though the plumber was able to jury rig a fitting to the toilet tank just about the time the bank was closing for the day it was still a relief to a lot of employees, me included.

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143v)

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143v)

By the time we got the truck loaded it was already 11:30am and I was supposed to meet ”Big B“ for lunch at noon. I knew he had to go in to work for a while on Saturday mornings so called there. I couldn’t believe my luck when he was the one to pick up the phone. I explained my situation and told him we’d have to try another time. He responded by asking if I (we) could use another hand. That was for sure as Moira’s son and his friends had left to prepare for what was to be his last football game. In previous posts I’ve mentioned that "B", in spite of his bulk (300+ pounds), was one of the strongest people I’d ever seen. I told him where we’d be and then headed for the mobile home park.

Brucie, the park co-owner, had the unit placed on one of the perimeter pads which was a plus for Moira. He’d had the electric hooked up and ordered fuel for heating. The only thing Moira had to do was get a phone hooked up. Moira, Bret, Mike and I toured the empty unit and visualized where the different pieces of furniture would go. Moira admitted that she’d missed seeing the drawers under the closets and had a sheepish smile on her face as she did. We were just about to start unloading when ”Big B“ showed up.

Getting the beds and mattresses in place was easy since we didn’t have to fight over, around and through furniture. That part of our plan worked perfectly. ”Big B“ handled the double bed mattress and box spring all by himself. However, in spite of my warning Moira about taking too much living room furniture, we had some things that just weren’t going to fit. Setting them aside the next things were the dresser drawers with the clothes in them. After explaining the reason for all the drawers to ”B“ he, rather innocently, asked what Moira was going to do with the drawers after they were emptied. I think we all just stood there with blank looks on our faces.

Mike, once again, came up with a temporary solution. If we could get all the clothes out of them he’d take them back to Moira’s house and meet her there. He’d already offered to temporarily store her excess furniture in his truck until she could find a place for it. We took all of them out of the truck placing them on the beds. We were now approaching 2:30pm and Elle didn’t know anything about where I was, only that I was with ”Big B“. The whole time we’d been unloading the truck Moira’s daughter had been sulking in the front seat of their car. Moira went out and almost dragged her into the unit telling her that if she wanted her clothes she better start packing them away. She made some smart assed remark to Moira that got her a smack across her cheek. I, inwardly, smiled.

Still to be unloaded were the boxes with glasses, dishes, pots and other kitchen utensils. ”B“, Bret and Mike took on that project while I went to get Rusty’s clothes into the drawers in his room and Moira did the same with her things. I finished first and carried the empty drawers back to the truck. Mike had run into a small problem which needed Moira’s attention. While she was up front and in the kitchen area I went into her room to collect any empty drawers to get them out of the way. I was hoping that the panty drawer would be exposed but I didn’t see it. I remember thinking I was pretty lucky to have scarfed a pair of Moira’s panties earlier. That gave me two pair, the other I'd found in the glove compartment of her car. I carried a few empty drawers out to the truck and was contemplating my ‘getaway’ when it came to me that Moira now had three dressers that she didn’t need.

When Elle and I’d bought our house, the previous owners had left much of their furniture behind. There was enough to take care of the kids needs but now,  with them getting older, they needed more space for their clothes. Anne, having just been moved into what had been our spare bedroom, was in need of another dresser.  So I approached Moira to ask if she’d sell one of the taller ones to me. She was headed down the hall towards me with  pained look on her face. I let her speak first and it was to ask what she should do about Mike. I didn’t know what she meant so didn’t have an answer. She’d suddenly realized that she should pay Mike for at least the use of his truck. I knew when I’d asked him to help out that he’d said "yes" because I was now his boss. I also knew that it wasn’t really fair but had let it slide. I had no idea what to tell her as far as what the amount should be and just stood there looking sort of foolish. To break the stalemate I asked about the dresser. Bret had come by and when he heard me ask he piped up and offered to buy the other tall one. Now it was Moira who didn’t know what to say. I had $15 in my wallet so offered that up to her. I happened to see Bret’s eyes when I made the offer and I know they sort of popped out a bit when he heard me. I distinctly remember Moira taking a deep breath before she agreed to my offer. I could see Bret was now in a bind and he hesitated before saying all he had was $10 and asked if he could pay the rest on Monday. When she said OK that meant she had at least $25 to offer Mike.

By then Mike had walked up to find out what was going on. Moira said that she’d just sold some furniture and now had some money to pay him. I didn’t really have a  full ‘read’ on Mike at that time but he’d shown me that he could think on his feet. He emphatically told Moira ”No money!“  but added that if she was willing he’d like a table and a chair that had been left back at her house. Within minutes it seemed like everybody was happy. The problem for me was I’d now have to go back to Moira’s house to get the body of the dresser and would be even later getting home..

”Big B“ had been sitting on the stairs into the unit while all these negotiations were going on. No one had had anything to eat and the only thing I’d gotten from ”B“ was he wanted to discuss having a bachelor party for our friend Martin. He and my former neighbor Sabrina (now going by her given name, Lisa) were getting married the Saturday after Thanksgiving so time was running out. I asked ”B“ if he wanted to go back to Moira’s house with me so we could discuss it. By then everything that was staying was out of Mike’s truck and he was ready to head back to Moira’s to pick up the furniture we’d left behind. Bret wanted to get home so didn’t join the armada. Mike told him he’d pick up the dresser he wanted and they’d arrange a pick up for him.

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143u)

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143u)

When I arrived home Elle told me Big ”B“ had called and wanted to meet up with me in the morning. I hadn’t told Elle about helping Moira to move although I wasn’t really worried about a negative reaction to it since I’d told her about the dire straits she was in. However, ”B’s“ call gave me an excuse to put off my normal Saturday morning chores. I called him to say I’d meet him for lunch at his favorite restaurant. Now the trick was to get Moira moved in and back in time for lunch.

I told Bret I’d pick him up at 8am and he was out on his front stoop as I pulled up. It was only a 15 minute ride to Moira’s so we didn’t have much time to talk. When I pulled into the drive way I remember thinking that Moira wasn’t really giving up all that much in the way of housing. The house looked worse in the bright sunlight than it had when I’d seen it before when I’d driven Moira home that time when her car broke down. Bret, without me saying a word about it, commented that the whole property looked pretty bad.

Moira was loading her hanging clothes into the back seat of her car as we arrived. It was the first time I’d seen her wearing anything but a dress. The material was denim but they weren’t what we know as jeans. Her teen aged son, Rusty, because of his red hair, had two of his friends there to help move the furniture out of the house. In fact, by the time Mike arrived with his truck most of the living room furniture was already in the front yard. Surveying it I knew it all wasn’t going to fit. I’m guessing now but I think the house might’ve been around 1100 square feet. I knew the mobile home was only 550 square feet so there was going to a lot of things left over and mentioned it to Moira. Mike heard me and volunteered to store what she didn’t need in his truck for a while which was a relief to Moira. Having lived in mobile homes for seven years I had a pretty good idea what would fit and what wouldn’t and Moira went along with most of my suggestions. Probably the most important one was for us to load the beds last. That way they’d be unloaded first and with nothing in the unit when we brought them in it would be a fairly easy task.

The daughter, about 14 or so, was sitting on the bottom step of the stairs to the kitchen door with a disgusted look on her face. Moira told us to ignore her as she was pouting about moving away from her school and friends. She paid no attention to all that was going on around her and was in her own little world. However, she was in the way for us to move the boxes with the pots, pans and dishes out of the house. After almost tripping over her on my way out with a big box I approached her on my way back to ask her to move. Moira was at the door and yelled at her to move but all she did was to turn and look up at her mother. As she did she left one leg in place and pivoted the other so she could look up at her. Since she was wearing a dress I had an incredible view up to her crotch. I know they were flowered panties but that was all I could see. She proceeded to talk back to her mother which prolonged my viewing. In writing about it now I can only say that I wished that it had been Moira instead of the girl. In any case, she eventually got up and out of the way.

We’d decided to load the boxes into the truck first so they’d be the last off. I noticed that there really weren’t all that many and asked Moira if the boxes with their clothes were in the bedrooms. She gave me a puzzled look and said that in all the moves she’d made while her husband was in the Air Force the clothes stayed in the dressers. Hearing that made me smile. It was obvious that she hadn’t noticed that there were built in drawers under the closets in the mobile home. When I told her there was no room for furniture in any of the bedrooms, including hers which was the largest one, she gave me a look that indicated she didn’t really believe me. I reminded her that I’d not only lived mobile homes but had actually worked on them for a while. She was asking me what she should do since she didn’t have any boxes when Mike walked up. He had sort of a smile when he said that we could just take the drawers over in the truck and unpack them after we got there. Moira was clearly not happy at that point so I backed up Mike’s suggestion. I told her she didn’t really have a choice.

Since we’d been loading boxes first as they’d be the last to be unpacked Mike told us to start bringing the drawers out to the truck. Moira had Rusty and his friends start in with his room and Bret headed for the daughter’s room. Moira had started back to her room when the phone rang so I went in to get some on out to the truck. There were two dressers in her room with one being taller and narrower than the other. I opened the top drawer of the tall one and found only a few random socks, T shirts and boxer shorts in it. The next drawer had a pile of uniform shirts in it and that was all. It was obvious her husband had been using it. I felt there was no point in taking any of that stuff so went to the long, low dresser. There were six drawers, three and three high. I pulled one of the top ones out and saw it was filled with nylon stockings, socks and slips. I pretty much knew the other one held the ”prizes“ I was looking for. I took a quick peek out of the room to see if Moira was still occupied and she was. Bret was on his way out the door with a couple of drawers stacked on each other so I knew I had a chance to take more than a cursory look. I pulled the drawer open and saw what would best be called a ‘mish-mash’ of panties. I knew right away that I could delve into it without fear of Moira knowing. There were pastels, white and flowered panties and  they appeared to be all full briefs. Most appeared to be nylon although there were some cotton ones mixed in. A guess would be maybe two dozen in all with the majority being white. I grabbed a pair of white nylon panties and they happened to be inside out. The label read ”Pam“ and the size was 6. I’d thought about what size she was any number of times and had guessed right. After stuffing them into my pocket I pushed the drawer back in and pulled out one from the bottom. I was on my way out of the room with it when Moira came down the hall. I asked if she thought she could handle one and she said she could. I breathed a sigh of relief as we passed each other.

With six of us bringing drawers out to the truck Mike was running behind in getting them placed so we began stacking them on the ground. As I put the drawer I’d brought out down I asked Mike how it was going. I’d looked at my watch and it was approaching 10am and we hadn’t started loading the furniture. Not what I’d hoped for. Moira brought out a drawer and as she put it down I watched her. The pants were different in that they had a side closure... and it wasn’t closed. A nice patch of white showed as she she bent over. It was my first sighting of panties on her and what made it special was that I had a pair of hers in my pocket.

"Pam" panties, size 6... and still good after all these years...

An extra post...

This is the first time I've done anything like this, writing about something that happened today. It sort of fits in with the theme of this blog.

Background... Our middle daughter, Anne, decided to buy a sailboat. For those of you who've been reading this tome for a while should recognize her as the daughter who, as a youngster, took to sailing right from her first exposure to it. Over the past 25 years her jobs have kept her from being near the water. However, last Summer she was offered a position that gave her three things she really wanted... more money... being closer to us... access to water where she could return to sailing. She wanted a boat small enough to sail alone but large enough to take three other adults along. She started looking back in April but couldn't find anything she liked in her price range. At a neighborhood gathering last weekend she mentioned her quest to a few people and one told her of a woman who was moving and had a sailboat for sale. The woman wasn't at the affair but Anne was told where she lived and that the boat was in the driveway. On her way home she drove by the house and took a cursory look at the boat. It seemed about the size she was looking for so scribbled a note with her name and address and left it in the door jamb.

Anne got a call about midday on Sunday and one of the first this she asked was the price... too much! The woman wanted Anne to come over to get a good look at the boat but, if there is one thing she got from me it, it's being careful with her money so she said " No." When she got home last evening she found a note taped to her door that said the price on the boat had been reduced and for Anne to please call her. She did and the price had been reduced by 20%... Down to being close to what Anne had budgeted. That's when I got a phone call... To ask me to go with her to look at the boat to check on the condition.

Bright and early this morning I headed for Anne's place knowing that she also would expect me to not let her get "sold" on something that wasn't worth the money. I picked her up and only had to drive a short distance to see the boat. When Anne had seen it it was dark and had been covered with a canvas tarp. She was clearly surprised to see it uncovered. We started to look it over when a 40 something woman walked up to us. She was attractive, for sure, but what made me take close look was how she was dressed. She was wearing a pair of bright blue yoga pants and a striped tank top. She would've stood out in a crowd regardless of her looks. It was obvious that she was excited to see us and started "selling" us on the merits of the boat without even telling us her name. I was a little put off by that but didn't say anything. Anne asked some technical questions which the lady couldn't answer. She tried to explain it by saying her husband was the real sailor in the family That caused me to ask where he was. He'd been transferred to Iowa and she'd stayed behind to sell off the things they didn't want or wouldn't be able to use, like the sailboat. I was concerned that she didn't have answers to Anne's questions and told her that without them it was" No deal " .

That's when it got interesting. After hemming and hawing for a minute or two she suggested that we put it in the water and take it for a sail. All the equipment was laying in the cockpit and the boat was strapped down on the trailer so all we had to do was attach it to her car and take it to  the community boat ramp. She quickly ran to the house and got her keys and we were off. The ramp was only minutes away and once there it only took about 15 minutes to step the mast and rig it. It took a little effort to get it off the trailer and into the water and then we were off.

There was a nice breeze and I was surprised at the performance of the boat. Not designed for racing but more for creature comfort, I expected that it wouldn't be all that responsive but Anne put the boat through some tough maneuvers and seemed pleased with the results. The lady, Maureen, stayed pretty quiet at first but as we sailed on pointed out some interesting facts about the body of water we were on. We'd been out for over an hour when she suggested that Anne sail up the river a bit so she could point out a cove that provided shelter during severe storms.  By that time I could tell Anne was ready to buy so I asked Maureen when the closing on the house would take place. I surprised her with it and she hesitated a bit before answering. Finally, she sort of mumbled that it was next Tuesday. Then I asked when she was leaving. She gave me look that told me she knew what was coming. Her answer was that she hoped it would be that afternoon.

I waited a little bit before I asked the question... "Is the price you gave my daughter your final price." She wouldn't look at me but was looking up the bay. Then I asked what she planned to do with the boat if she didn't sell it. When she finally turned to look at me she said she didn't know. I kept my mouth shut letting her think about it for a bit.

One thing I didn't mention when I described her outfit was that the outline of her panties was quite vivid. With the advent of thongs getting even the slightest VPL is a major accomplishment. So, I was thinking that even if the sale didn't go through I'd gotten something in return for my time.

As we headed back to the launching ramp Maureen pointed out a small marina along the shore. I felt she was making "small talk" when she did. However, she asked Anne to head in that direction. Without any hesitation, Anne steered the boat towards a dock with a marina sign on it. She didn't ask why and iI didn't give it a thought. We were getting close when she asked Anne to go up to the dock. I grabbed a spike and was holding on to it wondering why we were there. It only took a few seconds for me to find out.

When Maureen tried to take the step from the boat up on to the dock I (and Anne) got the answer. I watched a gush of pee pour out of her crotch. Up on the dock her pee started streaming down her pants changing the color of them as it did. I watched her start down the dock towards the facilities and then stop and head back. The look on her face was of pure embarrassment. Back by the boat she apologized and then did something I didn't expect. She looked at Anne and said she could have the boat for $2,000, the price she'd set as the maximum she'd pay... And then climbed back in the boat.

The hardest part of the whole experience was keeping my hard-on hidden from both of the women. It's been a LONG time since I've seen a good VPL as well as a public wetting. Back at the launching ramp I got a real close up of her wet bottom where I could actually see the crotch line of her panties and was able to confirm she was wearing bikini panties. Once we got the boat back on the trailer and Anne confirmed that she'd buy the boat, Maureen said she'd trail it to Anne's house. We were just about to leave the ramp when Maureen, who had climbed in behind the wheel of her car, suddenly got back out. From where I was standing I could see her crouching behind the driver side door. It was only for possibly 30 seconds and then she climbed back and pulled the trailer from the water. At Anne's house she asked if we would unhitched the trailer and that she'd return later in the afternoon with the registration papers and a bill of sale. To be truthful I had hoped she'd gotten out of the car to give me another look.

I really wished that I could've stayed until she returned but I had to attend a memorial service for an old friend. I did think about what had happened and why and what I came up with was that The lady hadn't used the toilet in a while before Anne an I arrived and didn't think about it when she suggested we go for a sail. We were only on the water for about two hours before pulling up to the marina dock. I found it somewhat interesting that Anne commented about Maureen having a small bladder. All in all, a memorable day for both of us!

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143t)

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143t)

The subject of the meeting wasn’t a big surprise because there had been enough work being done by the telephone company to warrant questions from the staff. What the meeting accomplished was to lay out a plan of action starting with the transfer of the name and addresses of our depositors and how it would be accomplished. Gina was introduced as the one to oversee the project and they were all told they would be a part of it. Also mentioned was the hope that transaction training would be started once the name and address file was transferred to the service bureau. There were two things that were surprising, at least to me. The first was in that there wasn't a negative reaction to naming Gina to be the one to be in charge. The second was the interest they showed in just how the information would be transferred over the telephone lines. I couldn’t even begin to explain it but promised that when the service bureau trainer showed up that I'd get her to try and explain it to them. Another surprise was that a number of them actually realized how much time would be saved by eliminating ledger cards. When the meeting was over I was pleased with how it had gone. I’d really expected a comment or two about Gina but was happy that there weren't any.

The teller machines from the service bureau arrived on Thursday afternoon along with a message from Albie that the service bureau was ready to test the new switch as the telephone company had, supposedly, installed it. That was the good news. The bad news was that I now had to get them to return to the bank and install the necessary data packs so that we could activate the machines. By the end of the day I had a verbal confirmation that they would be there the next day. Based upon what I’d been told (and experienced) they weren’t the most reliable when it came to meeting their commitments. But, at least the tellers could see what they would be using in the future. The machines were a bit bigger and now that we had them on site I could get the contractor in to modify the counter where they would be placed. I could see that progress was being made.

What I didn’t need was to have Moira show up at quitting time with a request for help in moving. She had to be out of her house by the first of November. That meant it would have to be done over the weekend. I'd indicated that I'd try to help her out but hoped that it wouldn't come to pass. It definitely wasn't what I wanted to do on my time off. With a forced smile on my face I told her I would. Bret overheard our conversation and volunteered to help as long as he had a ride. That was good news because it meant I’d be done sooner. When I was going out the back door it came to me that the new guy, Mike, had told me that he still had a small truck. Even though I knew it wasn’t exactly ‘fair’, I asked he he could help out. I’m sure, as a new employee, he looked at it as an ‘order’ and he said he would. At that point, I didn’t care.

The next morning, Hobie reminded me that Halloween was the next Tuesday. He was the Chamber of Commerce representative for the bank and I knew he hated being involved in the Halloween promotion as he’d passed it off on me the previous year. I’d hoped to avoid getting involved again in their annual Chamber of Commerce Halloween promotion. Chamber members were encouraged to get their employees to come to work in costume and then they’d be eligible for prizes. As soon as I could I delegated the job of finding volunteers from among the employees to Bret as I had way too much going on. Even though the previous year I’d stumbled into seeing a good panty viewing when one of the girls was getting into her costume, I wanted no part of it. To me it was just another time waster.

I spent the majority of my time trying to pin down the telephone company on the installation of our data packs. It was mid afternoon when, unannounced, four men paraded through the lobby looking for me. Trish, who was dating a telephone company employee, knew a couple of them and ushered them to my desk. At that exact moment I was talking with a district supervisor for the telephone company. When I told him my problem was solved as the workers were there to install the packs he responded by saying that it wasn’t possible as the work order hadn’t yet been processed.  I don’t remember what my response to that news was but I hung up as quickly as possible.

It was a quick installation as all the conduits and wiring were in place. They ran their test and assured me that there was a clear signal straight through to the data center. I wanted to get confirmation from the service bureau before they left but it was after 4pm and Trish let me know that the only reason they’d stayed that late was because she knew a couple of them. Albie said he’d go into their computer room and would guide me on how to send some data to them. In a way it was almost like Christmas morning when opening presents. It took about 15 minutes to get everything coordinated but when I hit the ‘send’ button it only took Albie about 10 seconds to yell ”Bulls eye!“ into the phone. Success!

Hobie had left for the day but Bret, Cara and Gina were standing there as I pushed the button and could hear and see my reaction to hearing that we were connected. Before Albie hung up he said he’d get Gracie, the lady who had trained me on the teller machine, to call and let me know when she’d be able to come out to the bank to do the same thing for whomever we wanted trained. I found that a bit ironic as both those people were standing right there.

It was around 5pm when I picked up the phone and heard Gracie’s voice. Even though I’d only spent a short time with her the voice was clearly recognizable. She seemed eager to get started and agreed on Tuesday. I’d already forgotten that it was Halloween. The initial plan was that she’d arrive after lunch, spend one night and then return to the service bureau at the end of the next day. In the course of the conversation she asked if I could make a hotel reservation for her. I’d not given that a thought. The hotel had closed and only the restaurant remained open. There wasn’t a motel that I, in good conscience, would allow anyone I knew to stay at but I said I’d take care of it just to end the conversation. However, I didn’t really know how.

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143s)

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143s)

A little recap on Gina...

When it became quite obvious to me that the lady, Letitia, who held the title ”Head Teller“ was anything but that, I came up with a plan. As a long time employee, Trustee and customer favorite, there was no way I was going to be able to remove her from that position. A productivity study that Bret and I had run showed, conclusively, that she was the slowest teller on the line. Her accuracy was OK but she had no leadership skills at all. As Head Teller she should’ve been overseeing her ‘flock’ of tellers but, afraid to speak up she made it difficult to establish lines of communication. I’d had the idea of creating a new position, Chief Clerk, to fill the void and had even spoken to Cara, the senior teller behind her, about taking the position. She surprised me by saying she wanted no part of it and was satisfied by being just a teller. I’d had any number of examples of Gina’s ability to think through problems and come up with solutions so she was my next choice... until Hobie shot it down. It was at the time the bank was making the commitment to using a service bureau to process customer transactions. One of the concerns was in what to do with the two employees whose jobs were being eliminated. Laurie, the bookkeeping (computer?) operator had never done anything but that job in the six years she’d worked for the bank. But, during that time she’d become one of Hobie’s favorites. Sooooo... when Hobie said ”no“ to Gina he immediately suggested Laurie even though she’d never handled customers, money or been in a supervisory position. I was, to put it mildly, upset.

Just by chance, at a regional banking meeting, I was talking with an officer from a similar type bank located about 30 miles to the West of us. He, off handedly, asked if I knew of anyone capable of filling a Head Teller’s position as their long time person was retiring at the end of the year. I immediately thought of Gina and managed to get the two of them together. When the other bank offered her the position but not until sometime around the first of December I became concerned that if word got out about my involvement with the arrangement that it would come back at me. I got Gina to promise not to say anything to anybody about her upcoming resignation or my part in it and to help that situation, had made as little personal contact with her as I could. Now, with the name and address project on the immediate horizon I had to let her know about it and what was expected from her.

Getting back to where I was... I told Bret to get word out to all the tellers and first floor staff for a meeting at 4pm. Trish had been working with me on a benefits problem concerning Gina going back to when her daughter was in the hospital for a medical procedure. The insurance company wouldn’t pay the bill because the daughter had a different last name than Gina’s. Gina and the father had never been married and he hadn’t been involved, in any way, with her or the daughter since the birth. We were trying to get through all the paperwork to get them to pay but without much success. Gina had asked a few times about it but, with little progress on our part, neither of us had met with her recently to discuss the situation. I figured it would be a legitimate reason to meet with her, alone, without raising any questions. I had Trish go to her window to tell her to report to the Board room while I gathered my things concerning the name and address project.

It took a few minutes before I headed upstairs. The quickest way was via the back stairway so I walked through the work area anticipating what it would look like once the new teller machines were delivered. I made the turn for the stairs and as I looked up I saw Gina bounding up towards the landing located half the way to the top. She was wearing a short, dark colored dress and as I peered upwards I caught a few glimpses of white. As soon as she heard my steps behind her she reflexively put her hand across her backside to hold the hem of the dress down... and then turned to see who it was behind her. As soon as she saw it was me she removed her hand and continued on up to the top... with me enjoying the short, but interesting, peeks of white. It was but a short distance to the Board room door and as soon as we entered she turned to look right at me and with this big grin stated ”I had to take care of my panty man“. I know I turned beet red and as I did she kept right on smiling.

After calming down I tried to be as businesslike as I could but it was difficult. It was obvious that she was enjoying the fact that I was uncomfortable. It took a try or two for her to get serious and I went over the hospitalization issue as best I could. Then, it was on to the real reason I wanted to talk with her. She was very surprised that I’d selected her. I explained that it was for two reasons with the first being she was truly the best person for the job. Then I added that it was also a ‘cover’ to hide any thoughts that anyone could have conjured up about her future with the bank. I got the distinct impression that she felt honored by the selection.

After describing the project I went on to tell her that if it went well that I was going to use her to train the other tellers on simulated monetary transactions. Albie had told me that they (the service bureau) would set up a fake bank so that all our tellers could get used to doing regular transactions using deposit tickets and passbooks. I wanted to make use her as much as possible before she left and this was one way of doing it. We ended up taking about twenty minutes and by then it was almost time for the meeting downstairs. When we were getting up from the large, comfortable Boardroom leather chairs that swiveled Gina on a whim, decided to give herself a spin. I started to laugh when I saw her. As she completed one revolution I saw her knees about a foot and a half apart. When she grabbed the table to stop I was less than four feet from her and was close enough to see the front crotch line of her white panties.. She saw where I was looking and as she got up made another ”panty man“ comment that I lost somewhere between then and my Day Timer but it, again, made me blush. To be safe I waited for a minute before leaving the room.

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143r)

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143r)

I left it up to Elle to make contact with Phyllis knowing I wouldn’t be a part of any conversation about it anyway. My thoughts were on the upcoming week at work with the new man, Mike, replacing the recently departed Hank. Even though he’d be there, both Bret and I would still have to walk him through all the things he had to do and when to do them. I was hoping he was a quick learner. Also on my agenda was following up with the service bureau and the telephone company on the missing switch so we could get started on the name and address transfer since November was right around the corner. As I mentally went through the week it suddenly came to me that I’d not followed up with Brucie on the rental of the mobile home for Moira. I’d gotten so engrossed with my plan for Elle’s birthday ‘present’ on Friday that I’d completely forgotten that I was going to call him about how much he was planning on charging for rent. There were two parts to it... rent for the unit itself and then the pad rental. The amount was critical for Moira because she was getting no money from her husband. It upset me a lot that I’d forgotten. Don’t ask me why but that got me to thinking about the fact I’d told my friend James that I’d interview his daughter Peggy and hadn’t gotten back to him on that. Of course that thought got me to thinking about Gina and the fact she’d be leaving in just four weeks. My head was spinning.

I seldom watched pro football on TV until the weather made it uncomfortable to work outside. That Sunday had started out fairly nice but by the time church was over it was getting nasty. By the time we’d eaten lunch it has started to rain. I’d had it in mind to rake the leaves from the back yard out into the farm. John, the neighbor farmer, had told me it was OK and it saved me a lot of time not having to bag them up and cart them to the ‘dump’. So, with the rain I rationalized that it would be permissible to take the afternoon off and watch the game. However, watching it from my recliner was a guarantee that I’d fall asleep... and I did.

When I woke up the game was over. Whenever I’d watch a game Elle would send the kids to the basement to play. I didn’t hear any sounds at all and Elle wasn’t in sight. I got out of my recliner and headed for the kitchen. As I started down the hall I heard a German accent so I stopped. It was Phyllis, Barbara’s mother. The next thing I heard was Elle asking a question and it seemed to be for Barbara. But, the answer came from Phyllis. Then I heard Phyllis say something like ”Isn’t that right, Barbara?“ but didn’t hear an answer. I hadn’t expected Elle to follow up on our bedtime conversation quite this quickly but it seemed like that was what was happening. Knowing I wouldn’t be welcome in the conversation I retreated to the den. From my recliner I could see out onto the patio and had a first hand look at anybody leaving the house. It might have been fifteen or twenty minutes before I saw Barbara leave. I waited for a few minutes for Phyllis but she didn’t follow. I got up again and went back to where I’d overheard Phyllis speaking earlier. I heard Elle asking Phyllis to be sure Barbara was OK with the arrangement but I didn’t hear an answer. The last thing I heard was Elle saying was that she wanted Barbara to feel comfortable. Then I heard the door close.

I hesitated for a minute or so before walking out into the kitchen. I could see concern on Elle’s face. In my mind I knew I  had to ask but I acted like I had no idea what had taken place. I remember clearly what she had to say. Having heard Phyllis speak for Barbara I thought she’d be all over Phyllis. But all Elle would say was that she wanted to talk with Barbara alone. Other than that she wouldn’t tell me anything about what had taken place. However, having been married to her for nine years had taught me to be patient and if I did she’d eventually tell me and without having to plead.

Monday was a LONG day! As I previously had written I was happy to have a replacement for Hank (the messenger/custodian) so quickly. Both Bret and I found that filling in for him after his death made for a lot of aggravation. However, it was a long and tedious process walking the new man, Mike, through all the things he was to do. I did manage to call Brucie on the matter of Moira’s rental of one of his mobile homes and pleaded her case. Moira had told me that anything over $100 a month would be almost impossible for her. The amount Brucie had given me was $120 with $50 of it for rent of the unit and the rest for the pad. Brucie could be a real A__ H___ but I’d had dealings with him in the past and as long as I didn’t get upset could usually get him to ‘bend’. I told him about her ‘limit’ and asked if he’d cut it back to $100 for six months until she could get the situation with her husband squared away. He hemmed and hawed for a few minutes but finally said OK and hung up. I remember sitting there holding the receiver in my hand for a few seconds. Needless to say Moira had mixed emotions when I told her, glad she had a place to stay but still worried about how to pay for it. I told her she worried too much and got a smile in return.

While at lunch the service bureau had called and left a message that the missing telephone company switch would be installed sometime during the week and that they were shipping two teller machines to us on Thursday. That made for two pieces of good news but it forced me into planning for the work to be done. It included training on the new machines. There was lot to be done in a short period of time. Bret had done the preliminary floor planning but now I’d have to tell everyone what was about to happen. I’d decided to put Gina in charge of the name and address project but hadn’t told her (or anybody else) about it. I knew I’d get some ‘flak’ for my choice but was determined to go forth. I figured the place to start was with Gina.

A PAUSE... for a little self promotion

A PAUSE... for a little self promotion... and a peek into the future of "Fancy Panties"

Today is the 10th anniversary of my first Blogger post and the creation of "Fancy Panties". Since that first one I’ve made 1189 more.

I’ll admit that I had no intention of taking it this far. I just wanted to try putting some of my experiences as a panty fetishist down and to be able to go back and relive them at my leisure. The fact that I picked up a few followers along the way was a bit surprising but it has been fun to read the little snippets that have been posted. They serve to encourage me to continue to write. BUT...

Through the years I’ve used a combination of notes, pictures and various types of diaries to jog my memory. Being anal, (inherited) I’d kept almost everything that I thought might be interesting to go back and to review at some time in the future... sports programs, magazines, comic books etc. Two years ago my wife (Elle) and I decided to move from a house we’d occupied for over 30 years into an apartment. Talk about downsizing! It was daunting. In the process of trashing the stuff that I’d been collecting for over 50 years I came across the materials that have been the source of most of my writings for the past two years. They were the large version of the pocket Day Timer. Reading them brought back so many memories that had long ago been lost that I ended up letting the material drive the blog. Too much information! I should’ve cut back on it a long time ago. For those of you who agree... good news.

These old Day Timers had been boxed up back in the 70’s and mixed in with a lot of other boxed memorabilia and ended up moving each time we did... always with the intention of going through the stuff... but it never happened... until two years ago. Because of this blog, I was ecstatic with find of the Day Timers because it gave detail to foggy memories. However, there turned out to be a problem. Somewhere along the way water got into some of the boxes and when I discovered it there was no way to salvage the contents. The pages on most were almost glued together and on others the ink had run or even disappeared. On top of that I’m convinced that as time was running out on me to get stuff moved out of the house I ended up shredding some things that I would like to have used in future postings. So...

Once I finish up with October (the current posting, Part 143) there will be a new format, one that more aligns me with the original intention of writing about the girls/women I’ve known and their panties. I haven’t come up with the format as yet but some materials that I kept separate from the day timers will help with the women from work and, of course, picture albums that can trigger wide ranging memories as well. I have hope that by, some miracle, you’ll find something of interest in the blog as time passes.

To those who have stuck with the blog lo theses many years (and words), THANK YOU! ... for the support. I hope you won’t be disappointed with what is to come. BTW... there will be pictures. :-)

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143q)

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143q)

If there had been one consistent thing about Phyllis it was that she said what was on her mind and didn’t ‘beat around the bush’. Not so this night. In retrospect, it was like she was painting a picture to set the tone of her request. I had no idea where she was going when she started in about the upcoming election day. I know I was sitting there frowning but she was concentrating on Elle and couldn’t see me. After a few minutes she actually got to the ‘meat’ of her pitch. The polling place for all elections was the school which meant there would be no classes. In the past there would be a half day of school on the day prior so the voting machines could be placed and checked out in the afternoon. The teachers had complained that the half day was a waste of time as the kids were concentrating on getting out of school early and not on lessons. The new school board had agreed so made it a another day off. Phyllis and her husband saw it as an opportunity to visit family and to also take their oldest daughter, Mo, to look at potential colleges. Even though she was only a junior in school, she had been taking extra courses and hoped to graduate early. This was an opportunity to do both BUT...

The ”favor“ Phyllis was asking for was for Elle and I to consider letting daughter Barbara stay with us while they were gone. I know that my eyebrows raised when I heard that. Phyllis told us that Barbara had just gotten her first paying job and was told that if she didn’t work that weekend she would be let go. Phyllis didn’t want that to happen and also didn't want her to be alone in the house for four nights. Because of the relationship Barbara had with our girls she thought she’d ask.

I can’t really explain my thoughts after hearing that but they surely were favorable. Elle, without turning to look at me, told her that we’d be happy to have her and added that our girls would be ”overly excited“. I hadn’t had time to grasp the whole idea when Phyllis turned to me and asked (told) me to leave as she wanted to talk with Elle. I wasn’t happy with the way that went down but Elle softened it by asking me to start getting the kids ready for bed. Bedtime was 8pm on school nights but when there was no school they could play until 8pm so when I went to get them before 8pm there was some complaining. To appease them somewhat I let the old two older ones get a book to read while I read a story to Kaye. When Elle showed up I asked what was so secret that I couldn’t hear. She made the motion of a finger over her lips telling me to shut up which made the situation even more strange.

On our way down the stairs Elle asked if I wanted to try one of the brownies Phyllis had brought over. I responded that I wanted to know what was the ‘secret’ Phyllis couldn’t share with me and Elle just smiled. She wouldn’t share it saying that she wanted a brownie. I knew she was teasing me because she never ate anything after finishing supper. She put the brownies out on the counter and got some milk from the refrigerator.  Being a ‘chocoholic’, I couldn’t refuse. Elle bided her time before starting to explain what Phyllis had to say. When she did, all I can say is that I had to work really hard at not smiling.

Elle said Phyllis was a completely different person once I departed. She wanted to tell Elle that Barbara had a ”problem” and, after explaining it, she’d understand if Elle changed her mind. Even though she’d not had many face to face meetings with the woman she was very surprised at how her demeanor had changed. When Elle told me that Barbara’s “problem’ was that she was bedwetter I almost smiled. All my ‘detective work’ in observing the number of panties and sheets on the wash line that led to my thinking that she might be one finally was confirmed. I know it sounds somewhat perverse but for a minute or two I was happy.

Elle went on that Phyllis would provide sheets, a rubberized flannel pad and soap. She added that Barbara would do her own wash and that she (Phyllis) would pay for her food. With that I asked what Elle had said to Phyllis. I can’t say I was surprised when she told me she wouldn’t accept the offer. We talked for a while trying to figure out where she was going to sleep. It wasn’t the bedwetting we were concerned about but rather the fact that all three of our girls would want her to sleep in their room. Each of the older girls had an extra bed but Kaye’s room didn’t and we both knew she’d be heartbroken if Barbara didn’t sleep in with her. We agreed that we had two weeks to figure that out and went into the den to watch TV. However, I couldn’t stop thinking about Barbara. When we finally went to bed I casually tried to get Elle to tell me if Phyllis gave her any background on Barbara’s ”problem“. Of course, being a female, she wouldn’t... but that didn’t curb my curiosity.

In bed, I got to wondering just how Barbara was taking the thought of others knowing her secret. Elle was just about asleep when I shook her to run that thought by her. She wasn’t happy about being sort of woken up but agreed I raised a good point. I suggested Elle reach out to Phyllis to set up a meeting with Barbara to make sure she was comfortable with the whole thing. One of the main concerns was our kids. In spite of precautions we'd taken with Elle’s ”problem“ the older kids found out about it and we had to have ‘heart to heart’ talks with them. Kaye was too young to understand so she was pretty much left out of them. I felt Barbara should have a say in how it would be handled if our kids stumbled onto her secret. When Elle agreed with me I felt somewhat better and was able to get to some sleep.

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143p)

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143p)

We spent a good bit of time discussing just where all the clothes might have come from and why they’d been discarded. Just about any of our ideas could’ve been a possibility. After Elle had tried on the things she liked we had to decide what to do with all the rest. Back when the minister of our church proposed having a child day care (Phyllis, the neighbor) in the basement the Vestry had been discussing the possibility of running a weekly thrift shop as a way to make some needed money. That idea dropped by the wayside with the start of the day care. Since it appeared that all the things were ‘quality’ we felt it would be a shame to just throw them away. My conscience wouldn’t let me use them for rags which was my reason for picking up the first box. Most of the clothes were seasonal (Spring/Summer) and when I suggested we keep them over the Winter Elle stuck her nose up at that idea. She took her choices inside and I started to box up the remaining ones when Barbara, from next door, appeared. She spied the clothes still on the table and asked what was going on.  Without asking she started going through them. I don’t think she was listening as I explained. Then, Elle reappeared and immediately asked Barbara if she saw anything she liked. She was holding a somewhat dressy blouse up in front of her and had a big smile on her face. I was somewhat surprised when Elle told her it was hers. The smile got immediately bigger. But Elle didn’t stop there and told her to see if there was anything else she might like. I stopped what I was doing and gave Elle a ‘hard’ look. It wasn’t that I had a real problem with the idea but just wasn’t expecting it.

What proved interesting was that Barbara used our downstairs bathroom to try some of the clothes on. She’d change and then come outside to ‘model’. Our kids were outside in the yard and came over to watch the 'fashion show'. One of the things she chose was a pair of peach colored knit shorts. I’d been surprised Elle hadn’t chosen them but when I saw them on Barbara I was glad she hadn’t. Even though the temperature was probably only in the mid 60’s she put them on and strutted around as if she was in a show. The kids loved it... and so did I. The shorts fit very tightly over her hips and, with her wearing band leg type panties, she didn’t have to bend over to give off a VPL. But, the best was yet to come.

Barbara left the shorts on as she went through the pile of shoes. Siting on the picnic bench, she’d slip a pair on and then, still sitting, would spread her legs out in front of her and then turn each foot back and forth a bit to get a better look at the shoe. What she didn’t realize was that when she did she was exhibiting a classic ‘camel toe’ in the crotch area of the shorts. She did the same thing with three different pair of shoes so I got quite a view. I can’t give you a reason why she chose to view the shoes while sitting but I was glad she did. I don’t remember what all she ended up with but when she was leaving Elle told her to send her sister, Mo, over. By the time she was done there wasn’t that much left as I was able to get it all in one of the original boxes and with room to spare. With no agreement as to what to do with it I decided to take it to the second hand shop run by the church we’d attended when we lived in the mobile home. We’d shopped there a lot when things were really ‘tight’ for us and I thought it was a way to give something (even if it really wasn’t ours) back.

Elle let me know the phone was ringing and when I answered it was Rex, the property manager at the sailing club wanting to know where I was. For all intents and purposes the club had been closed since the last weekend in September with the water, phone and electricity turned off. The only thing left to do was to nail up the storm windows across the front of the building and I'd told him I’d help... but with the excitement of the found clothes I’d forgotten. It was about 2pm or so when I headed for the club. Rex wasn’t very happy... in fact he was downright mad. It was a three person job and he let me know he and his brother had other things to do other than sitting around waiting for me. It took about two hours and by the time we were done we were friends again.

There had been no way for Elle to reach me so she was a bit perturbed with me when I walked in the kitchen. I could smell supper cooking so it wasn’t because I was holding her up on that. Then she told me we’d been invited to Ginger’s house with some of the others from the ”group” that had orchestrated the ‘new blood’ on the school Board and that Barbara had volunteered to baby sit as a thank you for the clothes. The only thing was if we didn’t want her she had a party to go to and needed to know as soon as possible. I wasn’t in much of a ‘party mood’ about then so just shrugged my shoulders. That was not a smart thing to do because from that time on all I got was a “cold shoulder” from her. Elle phoned over to Barbara’s to let her know but Phyllis answered. She took the message but asked if she could stop over after we’d eaten. Elle thought that somewhat strange because she wasn’t all that friendly to begin with but said it was OK.

About 7:30 pm we heard a knock on the kitchen door. We’d left the patio light on so she could have some light to guide her. As I’ve described her, short and stocky, she reminded me of a fire hydrant. Walking in, she handed Elle a plate of something. It was reminiscent of her last visit. I was reminded of a saying my father had used many times... “Beware of Greeks bearing gifts” even though I knew she was German. she insisted Elle take a peek. They were home made brownies using real German chocolate.  We invited her into the living room but she said she preferred the kitchen so we sat at the table. She started by asking about the clothes her girls had brought home. We explained the best we could which seemed to take the ‘edge’ off her attitude a bit. Then she really surprised me (us) when she asked for a “”Big favor...“ This really caught me by surprise. I sort of held my breath when Elle told her that we’d try.

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143o)

AUTUMN... now the changes (Part 143o)

Even though I was late in returning home Elle wasn’t upset because she was also running late. There was no time to even tell her what I’d bought as her present and barely enough time to get my bookcase and boxes out of the back of the wagon. Normally, Elle would leave Kaye home with me when running her 4H meetings but there was another woman who was helping her with a daughter the same age. We both recognized that Kaye’s social skills were severely lacking so Elle thought it would be good for her to go and to play with her. That was definitely good for me because it gave me time to rummage through the found boxes without having to explain them.

The broken box was the first and it appeared it only contained blouses and varying types of women's/girls tops.  I’d only gotten about 1/3 though it when I began to wonder if there had been some mistake and the wrong box(es) tossed at the 'dump’. The clothes seemed almost new as there was no obvious wear. I recognized the label on some of the items and it was one of Elle’s favorite brands... Aileen. The more I looked the more puzzled I became. A closer look showed the sizes to be either small or medium for the knit things and either 10 or 12 for the blouses. There were definitely some things among the pile that Elle would like and anxiously tackled the next box.

It contained a mix of slacks and shorts with a varying mix of casual things as well as some ”dressy“ ones. Again, the label, Aileen, was attached to more than half the items. I picked out a pair of white knit ones and gave them a good look expecting to seem some stains but found none. The sizes were were basically the same as the tops which meant Elle should be able to fit into them. I remember thinking that maybe I should return them to the landfill in case the person(s) who tossed them realized what they had done. That thought lasted for less than 30 seconds as I  knew some of the crew who worked there and figured they’d only end up in their cars.

I had no idea what might be in the third box but I knew it was the heaviest of the three. The first thing I saw was a woman’s Summer pocket book. Thinking there might be a name inside I opened it up to find nothing but a fancy cloth handkerchief. Disappointed, I went back to the contents of the box. The weight came from shoes. There was a mix of casual and somewhat dressy ”flats“. There might’ve been a dozen but I wasn’t interested in them. I did note that they, like other items I’d investigated, seemed hardly worn. I was almost to the bottom when I saw a couple of clear plastic shoe boxes just like the ones that Elle had in our closet. But, when I pulled one out there wasn’t a pair of shoes in it. It looked liked it was filled with tissue paper. The blue top was easily removed and when I did and pushed the paper away I was very pleasantly surprised to find a neatly folded nylon slip... new and with tags attached. I pulled it out only to find another underneath it. The tags on both read ValTric and the sales price tag read Strawbridge & Clothier, a well known Philadelphia department store. The first one appeared to be knee length and the other one a bit shorter. I was about to go for the next shoe box when I realized that there might be another item under the crumpled tissue paper. Pulling the paper out I saw there, indeed, was a third slip. The difference in this one was the label read Kayser and was nylon satin tricot with a lace hem and a lace insert down one side. Very elegant! It was from the same store but the price was almost 50% more than the other two at just under $8.

With that discovery in mind I literally dove into the cardboard box to get the next plastic shoe box. My heart was pounding as I popped the top. Again, I had to navigate through tissue paper. There were two piles of folded panties staring me in the face. On the top of one pile was a pair of fancy blue panties with the manufacturer’s tag still attached... Kayser... a quality item. I pulled them out and was pleasantly surprised to find the label reading ”Size 5“, Elle’s size.

There were a total of ten in all with three of them being bikini. All of the others were white and were made by ValTric, just like the slips but none were ”fancy“. The bikinis were size 6 while the panties were 5’s. It was rather unreal and I had a hard time grasping all of what I’d just uncovered.

I’d been on the patio while inspecting my ‘find’ and there were at least five, if not six piles of clothes on the picnic table plus the two shoe boxes of lingerie. I couldn’t understand why anyone would throw away perfectly good clothes and with some of the items being new. In my mind I was trying to sort out just what to do with all of it. I decided to separate the clothes into what I though Elle might want to keep and what she’d reject. I thought about the slips and panties and ended up putting them back in the shoe boxes and keeping them for the future. I really wanted to keep out the blue panties and telling her that I’d bought them with the wool jacket and skirt. The only thing was that she preferred plain old white and I couldn’t come up with a reason why I’d bought blue. The white ValTric panties were pretty basic and not something I would’ve bought. I didn’t know what I’d do with them so, since I still had time to hide them, put them back the way I’d found them and headed for the attic.

I positioned myself in the den so I could observe Elle’s reaction as she came up the path to the patio and the clothes piled on the table. She had her hands full with her 4H materials which she almost dropped when she saw them. She probably stood there for at least 30 seconds before approaching the table. I was sure she’d go for the knit tops and I was right. I was looking out the window right at her and she didn’t see me because she was so engrossed in seeing all of what was there. I came outside and explained it to the best of my ability. Later, she told me she thought I’d gone out of my mind and had bought all of it as her birthday present. She ended up picking out about eight or nine things including a pair of shoes. It was somewhat anti-climatic when I finally gave her the present I’d bought her.
