Breaking news... Update #4
The progress our daughter is making is pleasing both her nurses and doctors. In the previous update I mentioned that she'd taken an assisted walk her first day in the step-down unit. Her body has accepted the VLAD pump without any complications and the incision in her chest is healing nicely. Yesterday she made two trips around the whole floor with a walker and today it was three with one more scheduled. All IV tubes have been removed and she seemed more alert. The doctors have indicated that she might be released to the re-hab facility on Friday if she continues to eat and gain strength. That's almost a week earlier than expected. In talking to her nurse today she explained that she no longer needs to be in an ICU unit and the hospital doesn't have the PT facilities that she now needs. She's still got a long road to recovery where she can lead a somewhat normal life. With luck, hard work and dedication it might be by February. For all her family we hope it is an attainable goal.
Thanks again for your continued support.

Sounds like things are coming along well, good to hear. I'm sure getting those IV tubes removed was nice for her, sure makes trips to the bathroom easier!
Hi there PM and family,
Wow!! What wonderful news! We have lots to be grateful for, but prayers for complete and speedy recovery are ongoing. I'm sure I speak on behalf of many of your readers who have followed your writings from the beginning of this blog.... We're not just avid readers (and devotees of damsels' delightful underpinnings) but I for one am proud to call you 'friend'. You and your family occupy a special place in our hearts and wishes for strength, peace of mind and courage for you all are deep and sincere.
Looking forward to reading more pleasing updates of your daughter's progress.
Kind regards
Lurker.
BS and "Lurker"... Your comments continue to be uplifting. I hope to have a better handle on when I'll be able to continue with Fancy Panties on Monday as I have to return home to take care of some "business".
